hi guys
i would like to know if you MV users could tell me your sites to listen to how the MV sounds and if you also know sites where to listen to.
I know, there is youtube, but most of the time is the camera sound, so i don't believe to it that much...yes, maybe there are some youtube videos made well and without the camera sound, so if you know also those please tell me.
thanx

Its a bit difficult to answer these types of questions.

The Roland website has audio samples and videos that have excellent sound quality.

Better check those out: http://www.roland.co.uk/products/produc ... aspx?p=848

Also, the higher quality YouTube movies definitely can tell you a bit about what to expect. A lot of videos have the 'sound only' part at the end of the movie. I don't know which ones have though, so you'll have to search yourself.

Don't forget that sound quality depends on more than just the sampler / sequencer hardware. A poor user can easily make the MV sound bad, where a pro can make the MV shine and push the quality to the next level with their skills.

I've noticed that my first beats on the MV had a worse sound quality than my current beats and I'm still progressing and learning.

You can do a whole lot to tweak the final sound through the mastering in the MV, but that takes quite some skills.

The 'clean' sound of the MV is really extremely good though , so if your samples are of high quality, so will be your final sound coming out of your monitors if you don't screw up the mastering part.

If you're wondering if you can make really pro sounding productions on the MV, the answer is a clear yes in my opinion..

I'm almost done with my Open Challenge 5 entry. I'm going to do the mixdown and mastering tomorrow.

I'll make sure it sounds a good as possible.

I usually don't go crazy with FX on the challenges, but yeah, you can do lo-fi, FX and other weird things. I might be able to demonstrate that in another beat. The cool thing about the MV is that you can make it as dirty or clean as you want. If you want a basic amount of dirtiness in your beats, be sure to use the lo-fi FX, it works great.

Most of my MV beats haven't been properly mastered, so if I want to demonstrate the sound quality I hear out of my monitors, it's going to be somewhat difficult.

First 6 songs on my page is made using only the MV. You can download mini album there and listen to all those songs made on MV.

Oh and here is a video that I made some time ago just playing around with the MV. Sound is connected directly to the camera (thou there is still some noise that the camera internals introduce) so you can hear what the MV sounds live without using any of the mastering effects.
