I think I'm horrible at digging. I always get drawn to a record by it's cover art and shit...
Anyways, can anyone just recommend me some few albums that I could try to sample? Any genre... Maybe something more fast-paced than the usual jazz I sample...
And possibly without too much drums, like solos and shit.
Thanks in advance, guys.

when you go to your diggin spot, just try and rummage through the jazz and related sections for names you don't know, always try and cop some new shit when you go instead of another album by somebody you already have like 3 albums by, get that shit another time......and check out some library records, i suggest the bruton label, although its really the only one i've gotten to fully check out so far, some ill shit on em, here's a huuuge list of links to cop all sorts of library records, its a download of a pdf that has the list within it

http://www.mediafire.com/?1bk1m3zjvng

anybody know where you find library records?? i could see coming across somethin at a dollar shop, but otherwise i never see anything when i go out to my spots

Thanks
Thing is, you're not aloud to listen to a record at my local mine(aka digging spot, vinyl store :D)
I'm sticking to mp3's for a while, too until I find out why my mixer makes these weird sounds.
As for libraries, they aren't like in the US. They don't even sell records.
Salvation Army doesn't have any either, if they even have that around these parts.
Aaaargh, records don't get any cheaper than 5 bucks here, and you don't even get to listen to them -.-

If you have a sampler sample everything... dub, drone, birds chirping outside, your footsteps, soul, Afro-Caribbean stuff, whatever. This shouldn't be difficult! You don't have to make typical Jazz sample stuff. If you like some bands sample their stuff and tweak and flip it to the point that noone can tell where it's from.
