I was at a local record shop last week killing some time and this dude walks in looking for the owner. Says he has 50+ boxes of inherited records he needs to get rid of. The owner couldn't appraise them since the dude walked in 10 mins before closing time. I started talking to him, asking if I could take a look and sure enough, out back he has 2 pick up trucks worth of wax. I dig a little bit and start to notice it's a lot of late 50's early 60's type stuff. 10% was probably archived classical work excluding big band. Anywho, I told the guy that I couldn't buy the majority but various others on this forum might be interested in making a dent. $20 a box ain't bad but there's definitely room for negotiation. If anyone buys his stuff through this forum, he said I could spend a day digging through whatever's left. If a person who buys some wants to tag along when I dig, they're welcome to do that as well |
