Thanks Euclid. I'm gonna try to hold off on listening to these until I know whether or not I'm going to have time to bust out a track... but it's taking a lot of restraint.

ha ha... do you mean the Beatnuts track she jacked, or the BDP joint she also jacked on that song?

i dig this. i guess you usually go for a dubby vibe, but i think it was a real good way to make this sound 'non-jb'. if you follow. nice!

Here's mine.

Whu.. whu.. whud? ;D

It's the first time I used vocal samples in my stuff and also the first time I tried to do a bassline so excuse the sloppy bass stuff in the middle part *gg*

Hot damn, Juxt, your beat is so tight man! How'd you manage to isolate the drum sounds so well from the rest of the track? My beat doesn't even have hihats *lol* I think the bass is a bit too loud but other than that it's a flawless, grooving track!

Elhau, I like the stuff you did with the saxo, especially the end part is hella cool!

IIIII you really know how to use the effects to them drums, ver yunique sound :o

Fauna, your track is just off the hook. The stereo panning totally got me by surprise. I so dig the changeup in between and everything's so clean. It's just awesome that you could do that track just out of one sample song, big up!

Uh oh, I need some moooney! Yo Camilo, your beat is really funny, nice flow!

Oh man, this Arena thing is getting better and better.

thanks man, i enjoyed listening to your track. isolating drums is what i been practicing a lot on the 404. if your interested check a video of me flipping a vocal sample from battle 29 into drums.

Here it is, hope you enjoy.

This is my first battle, had a 404 for a few months now, but doing this has opened my eyes to the 404.

Any advice would be well received.

Aha! Cool video man! I once tried to clip a hihat out of a random sample but it didn't work quite well but I never tried it again. Thanks for that hint!

fanx for the props, blindfold. i like what (or, whud) you're doing in there. like the shots on every "2" and like the rework of the guitar part....i'd watch the timing on the snare on the "4" tho...its late, which coulda been on purpose for feel. imho is a LITTLE late for that vibe. but otherwise good stuff, and you should keep on using vocals, mans.

@SteveC: This is my second battle and I can say battles really improves our use of the SP's.

This is a little off topic but, how do I do to quote with "somebody wrote:...". I have tried to quote but always stays like "quote:...".

The easiest way to quote is to click 'quote' next to the comments on the right side, then remove everything you do not wish to quote.

Basically you need to write [ q u o t e ] text you want to quote [ / q u o t e ] , but obviously without the spaces in between.

I like the challenge of creating something from a single track, really gets you thinking.

There's some ill stuff posted on here :D can't wait for the next one already.
