interested in the rules, esp regarding the samples used

dont have any great theme ideas rn beyond a nba jam theme.
if we did that we would hear too many boomshakalakas :shock:
90s sports nostalgia theme would be cool for a tourney someday.

i like the wrestling theme bc we may get more rowdy beats

wwf wcw went back in forth wt people, should include both.
but it would be weird to have road warriors vs legion of doom
wait would tag teams work?

If it's NOT anime or videogames theme, I'm down.

If it's not sampling records using only your SP with all these rules and regulations- I'm down (nothing wrong with this btw just opinion)

I'm in if it's open battle. I'm too old for all these SP only limitations.

I'll definitely use an SP but would like to make synth tracks with a theme

i am curious about rules too. the whole chop whatever sample is alittle too open for me personally. i dont care about equipment used so much if there is some SP flavor on it.

cant wait to see rules smashed out and see how its going down and who is onboad

perhaps it will be a little forward, I propose to sample only the material relating to wrestling. the first thing that comes to mind is the musical themes of wrestlers entrances, and the soundtracks of the ppv events, like wrestlemania 25 theme or smtn.

this theme very acceptable for me, few years ago have great fun on this :mrgreen:

I'm down for whatever rules... Being allowed outside samples/gear is guaranteed to yield more heat and keep it going. There are both positives and negatives to the old fashioned rules, a positive for me being that it's a lot of fun to try to and "decode" the creative processes between opponents, knowing that they both have the exact same samples to work with. And the main negative for me being that sometimes you just don't feel the sample, or wish you could expand on it in your own way but it's not allowed, and you lose interest.....

completely agree. if the sample radically does not match my mood, no matter how I turn it around, I will not be satisfied with the process, or even more with the result

If it's sp only I'll still do it, but would prefer to be able to use other equipment as well for MANY reasons. Since this is an sp battle I think an sp should be the main tool tho. & being able to use additional gear doesn't necessarily make things easier...... just brings more possibilities and I definitely get more out of the battle.

Some could say it's not fair for the people that ONLY have an sp & nothing else. But there are also the people that ONLY have 1 sp and people with multiple sp's so....... :mrgreen:
