Yo Crane,

Yeah, they changed something about the download options a while back. It used to show a little button under the track when you view it in a playlist. Now you have to click on the track where it shows the detail, description, etc. to download.

But there's no option for this track on your page though. To change it you can click the [...More] button under the track and select [Edit track]. It will bring up the page where you can edit the track info - At the top there are 3 tabs [Basic info] [Metadata] [Permissions]. Click on permissions. The 1st thing on the top left is [Enable downloads], check the orange check mark next to it and scroll down and hit [Save changes] and that will change it. It will allow us to download the exact file you uploaded.

Ok, there are plenty of ways we can send the tracks back to you for downloading. On soundcloud, dropbox can send links without having the receiver make account, or I've been using this one to send stuff. https://wetransfer.com/ You just upload (up to 2GB) and it will give you a link to send, without making an account.

Bandcamp is probably the best option for full albums. It will allow you to download in different formats, all nice and zipped up. I don't think there is a way to download multiple tracks on soundcloud, it seems to just be for singles.

Nevermind above. It is now enabled for downloading and I learned something new. Thanks.

Oh cool, I was replying at the same time. Yeah, it confused me too when they changed it, the option used to be at the bottom of the upload page, then they hid it under a tab. Thanks, Crane. Gonna get to cooking!

Thanks Soul Choppa.
This is probably a stretch from your style of beats (which you know I loved that r.o.y beat) So if you could find it in your heart to come up with some shit it would be great.

I'm down to do this too, I actually read the post & it got my interest, I just haven't shared anything with the public yet, it makes me think too much & I worried something like this would def get me in my head, doubting every move. But I think this is just the thing to help me get past that. A good challenge for a good purpose.
I'll get to work!

@Crane

Massive props and major respect in organizing this project for the kids mother.

If I can grab enough spare time over the holidays i'll try to throw something together also.

Great job Crane. This felt really significant somehow, the time spent working on this anyway... I wish I could've done more with the beat. Gave me lots of time to reflect on mortality and the recent loss of a couple friends (unrelated to each other).

Nice work on the previously posted tracks.

Another dope song uploaded by Ghost Bazz.
Bazz would you mind making it downloadable or emailing me the track, I'll have to get drmnaga78 as well when he's back in town and we got 3 down.
Glad it helped clear your head or give you some insight by working on the project.

Sharris and Danswift by all means jump aboard if you have the time. Sharris if you can use this to let go of some of the past then by all means please do so.

and keep in mind there are no rules to this, I just ask that parts, pieces, sounds from his music be used. Feel free to add in drums, sounds, synths whatever. As pointed out before to me, this is not the choicest nor easiest material to use, and I'm pretty sure I used the easiest loop I could find on there.

Thanks.

I'll have something for you by the weekend, Crane. Playing with some ideas for some artwork also.

Hopefully I will too. On Friday I sampled the whole thing thru the analog heat & just listened to his music, to get a feel. I decided to only use his sounds & not add anything, came up with like 8 ideas, but only liked 2 of them & tried making them into a beat.......I don't know, wasn't really happy with what I was coming up with. I'll work with it a little more & should have SOMETHING this weekend......hopefully something half way decent.

Thanks to both of you.

I bet the analog heat really spiced up the material.

It turns out his birthday is tomorrow (that was just divulged to me today incase any one was interested). I feel good about my first beat, but anything I've come up with after that has been pure garbage, this (at least for me) has been a lot harder than I initially anticipated. Hopefully this weekend I can come up with something good, or add on to my current track.

Yeah, it sounds good, I didn't drive it hard or anything, so it still sounds clean after running thru the AH, but sounds a little thicker & warmer.

It's been harder than I anticipated as well. He has open drums, open synths, I was like damn, I'll just use his sounds, this will be great....no problem! But once I started chopping it up & playin with it, I struggled. For me at least I think it's due to it being techno.....at first I tried making hip hop, but it wasn't working out......so I tried like a trip hop spin & got a cool loop going, but when I tried making it into an actual beat & not just a loop, it sounded like shit. So I moved onto techno & have a beat almost finished, but it sounds similar to what he made yet not as good. UGH. I KNOW I can do it tho, I know it's possible, so I'm gonna keep trying. Worse case, I might end up adding additional sounds......but if I do that, I'll still make his sounds the focus. I think I might hit some of his drums hard with the analog heat as well, for extra texture.

Now I want to go home & work on it but I'm stuck in the office.

I finally listened to the beats.........got sum inspiration.........good shit, really creative.
I like the vibe & rhythm of Drmnaga78's.
Nice boom bap feel Crane. I like how you dropped in the 2nd layer of drums.
Ghost bazz's had a nice vibe too, I like how you switched it up in the 2nd half.

I'll post sumthin soon, hopefully by Saturday.
