Skinny B - Fantastic vibe!! This one seems timeless.
DimXL - Nice vocal samples, a bit quiet though (same goes for mine). I couldn't understand the last few words. Dope patterns. Solid!
Asha C - Nice work with the effects. Glitchy but not sloppy.
gis_sweden - you're crazy in a great way! Thanks for the link to that acapela box websites, i'll have to try that out soon.
FreshserF - Such a great one. Awesome vibe. That simple bassline is golden. One of my favorites.
Locksmith - Took me under water about halfway through with that filter. Another fine entry.
Jade Badger - Did he say "this is my bop gun"? Those samples are dope and fit the beat well. Masterful shit!
A'jin - Damn thats groovy. I'm a fan of minimalism so i can dig this. This is gangster.
Ellaguru - Wild! One of a kind. Full of energy!! Is that you on the mic?
I vote B.
Hey Tiredoriots, can I get the file of your beat from the last battle. I will be compiling the second SP Battalion Winner's Circle album soon, probably just after we vote on battle 150.

All beats were super dope, and cool samples too. Really hard choice between Skinny B's pure tones or Chopperman's tight beats this time around, went for Chopperman in the end.

The samples everyone is sharing are so awesome! Tiredoriots you said you were never sure what to share for samples and I was kinda thinking like "okay something accessible with a few obvious choices maybe?" and then you drop some Krautrock on us?! My mind was blown - so sweet. I've gone messin' with some Neu! and Can records before because I love that particularly kinda raw jammy jazzy rock live-off-the-floor sound that a lot of those bands seem to have in common, but I could never really get anything off the ground. Anyways, thanks for sharing and now I've got some cool new leads!

Cheers all

yes, badly recorded and without appropriate metrics, in italian, it was badly me

Wish I had finished mine- lots of different approaches. Lots of skills on display!!
Cannot comment on them all right now- went with Ajin it just was material I thought a bit tricky to work with and dug the vibe.
I will try to finish mine at some point- got excited i came up with a 7/4 at one point was diggin!
:)

Damn, totally slept on this battle. Listening to all entries for the 1st time now:

Skinny: What a way to kick the battle off, really liking the drums at the end. Some real classy elements in this one. Short & sweet, had to bump it a 2nd time.
DimXL: Loose & rediculous in a fun way. That you speaking through the demo?
Asha: That drone & slow drums combo got me from the start, you feeling a bit of BoC? Proper eye-glaze-over material.
Gis: Not sure if this one's really simple or just sounds simple... Maybe I oughta check out the original samples.
Fresh: Some nice swing & attention to detail with the little truncated noises. Like where you're going but might need a little more practice. All that wah/filter play is dope. Finishes stronger than it started, keep it up!
Locksmith: Some great use of the strings/horns sample & the wooden drums are killer. Cinematic vibe but the ride cymbol's a bit harsh (but that could be my shitty laptop speakers). Dope to finally hear you battle too.
Jade: Dopest drum pattern of the battle right here. Catch is this one ends too soon. Want more!
Chopper: Wait, now this has some killer rhythms. Just as killer as Jade's pattern. Would love to hear these drums resampled with extra kicks, snares & hats to emphasise things. Not sure if there was much happening behind the drums & drones (those speakers again), pity.
A'jin: Oh man, more great drum patterns, got a bit of a 90s Mo Wax vibe happening. Wish I could've heard more of what you were aiming for.
Ellaguru: Best song name of the battle. Dude you murdered that mix. With a little more noise or breakbeats you'd have me thinking this is an old Kid606 freakout. Harsh!

Real surprise of this battle's to hear the Jade Palace represent. Very cool! Bloody impressive variety in the entries too. Well done all.

Dunno who to vote for... Skinny, Fresh, Locksmith, Jade & Chopper were my faves. How about Skinny B's beat? Total package with the drums, chops & sound quality. Yeah that's my vote.

:D No you are right! I kept it simple. I didn’t want the beat to drown the speech synthesis.

stupidgurner - nice flip. really like your drum work!
dimXL - very entertaining
asha c (concret belly) - nice consistent work
FreshSerfPro - stumbling & wobbling beat
Locksmith - bad sound & good sound working together in harmony
Jade Badger - classic vhs-style... sweet lo-fi.
Chopperman - metal kind of beat with 'strings'- nice layering!
a'jin - great sounds! like a band rehearsing in the basement.
ellaguru - absolut sick sound. great.

Voted FreshSerfPro
