Alright I'll kick it off by actually trying to give feedback, and please don't take it too personal and try to see it as constructive criticism if one of the replies might be somewhat negative:

gis_sweden: Really liked the way you programmed the drums and the (layered?) chops were simple but clean. Overall good flip!

tiredoriots: Some nice pitching. A bit abstract too my taste but cool. The part with the delay(?) on it was pretty dope though!

Unfolding: Dope, swingy, feel as a whole! The sample chops were also spot on and I really liked the buildup of your flip. Really dope!

RockySullivan: Also here the sample chops were dope. Also digged the effects you layed upon your track. Really good flip aswell!

Green Dutch: Same story as Rocky actually, dope chops and the effects were nice! Though sometimes I got the feeling it wasn't synchronized well (could be my ears though ;)). Still a good flip!

PADER: The first flip that somewhat combined different chops unlike the others. Liked the little flutter thing you did on it and this track actually sounded like a track, more complete. The lo-fi sound was also nice.

Alnitak_Kid: That distorted 8-bit ish thing drop just as the effects you used were nice! The drum programming was good aswell. And even though you used one main sample and subtle layering other chops, I still really liked the flip. Though, I wonder what that blippery sound is? How did you made that?

Chopperman: Really like the chops and sequencing you did with the low horns and layering the high pitched things on top. At first it seemed a bit sounding the same but then the choppy breakdown near the end came and that really stood out to me. Dope switch up. Good flip though!

fluckshoewait: The most abstract flip of them all (in a good way)! I have no idea what you did except for the drums but it does has something that appeals to me. Can't say anymore about it actually.

And the person who got my vote issssss:

Unfolding!

I can get on board with all of riPaddo's feedback.
Every track has it's own thing going for it but since we only get to vote for one,
my taste is calling for PADER.

You gave the sample a mad head nodding sinister vibe to it, which really suited the sample and satisfied my dark side.

Quote:
Though, I wonder what that blippery sound is? How did you made that?

Tiny trumpet chops with Filter/Drive. Pitch added on top for the echo-ey blips near the end.

First, great FLIPS! EVERYONE!

So stoked to be a part of this one. I'm glad I entered it too!

riPaddo thanks for the killer sample and breaks. And your feedback!

gis_sweeden: Killer chops here!! And you made this quick!! I like how this flip has more low end to it!! ( if that how you would describe it??) Dope work here!!

tiredriots: The pitch here was crazy!! Great stuff! Choice of chops were dope as well!! I'm all about the experimental stuff!! We all have to try to stand out somehow! Sicc flip, bro. Keep at it! (Love feedbacking off of each other)

Unfolding: What you did with this flip makes me wonder If I should have bought a 606!! The part you chopped at 0:42, I was seriously trying for about an hour to fit that part in my flip. Couldn't do it!! You managed to do it wonderfully! That reverb on it!! SO GOOD! DOPE DOPE DOPE FLIP!!

Green Dutch: Liked your choice of chops here, man. Nice job!! The Effects ruled as well. It did sound like it lost timing a little bit in the middle but I sometimes have a trouble with this as well and get mad frustrated so I can relate. But still good work.

PADER: First compliment goes to the photo of the track, haha. Love that movie! Your effects/chopping skills are so dope, man!! That white noise that comes in out of nowhere is my favorite part! Not to mention the chops and layers that were added! I think you used a lot of your samples on gate as well??! (Need to start trying that out myself) GREAT FLIP!!!

Alnitak_Kid:Dude, The main loop of the track is badass love the effects added to it too. Like riPaddo said those 8 bit sounds were the cream of the crop! Dope resampling and dope flip.

Chopperman: Love the way you cut up the drums and sequenced them over layers of the sample!! Creative stuff!! To me it sounds like you used a lot of the samples on GATE?!! which I need to practice/do more of! GREAT FLIP

fluckshoewait: Like I said with tiredriots, all about the abstract experimental stuff. Dig that I can't even recognize the samples! Great resample work! and nice flip!!

SO STOKED TO HAVE BEEN APART OF THIS ONE!! DOPE FLIPS EVERYONE!!! NOW LETS VOTE THIS AND ON TO THE NEXT!!!!!!!

VOTE GOES TO:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::PADER!!!

originally was gonna vote for unfolding, then PADER came along with this little diddie!! sorry unfolding!!

Listening now. Most of these I'm hearing for the first time.

Gis: Not used to hearing you make something like this, not bad with the chopping but the samples you grabbed were out of tune for how they relate to one another. Sick drums though.
Tiredoriots: Weird pitch shift... Straigth up weird. Some of the effects combos were sick (especially the stutter-mute at 0:16). As an experiment, this one works.
Rocky: Cool droning horns, you switched up the hook nicely. The sound quality's tops too. Maybe the drums could've used a change-up though.
Green: Mate you sure it was coffee you were on when you made this one? The drums lost time with the chops pretty majorly. Thought I was listening to 2 flips at the same time at one point. Pity 'cause the chops were sick, if they'd lined up right this could've been a contender.
PADER: Oh man this sounds drunk... Dope swinging drums & mangled chops. You nailed it! Lo-fi or die, right?
Alnitak: Oh shit just realised you reversed the sound of riPaddo's turntable slowing. I was gonna use that too but forgot it. The string stab's sick & those pitch-shifted blips are something I might have to use (rip off) next time... That was your first battle beat, right? If so, damn, competition's gonna get tighter.
Chopperman: Slow & mellow. Pity some of the trumpet notes in your chops weren't in time with the drums. Otherwise this one's a seriously confused beat, in a good ambient way. OK so when you change up with the flange drums you made me sit up & listen harder, that bit was sick. Wanna hear more like that.
fluckshoewait: Oh wow... Really liking this one, back in the 90s this was exactly what I wanted to hear when I listened to beats. Almost a DJ Krush vibe on this one. The pitch shift is killer too, I could listen to beats like this for days. WTF is a cronut anyway? Googled it, read this & got worried...

Big toss up between PADER & fluckshoewait... Went with fluck because the simplicity is perfect.

 No worries mate, that's what these battles are all about- one-upping the last guy. BTW- the 606 gets slept on a lot, if you ever see one 2nd hand don't let it slip.

@riPaddo: THANKS! When's the vote close?

Good battle everyone, bring on round 143!

Interesting comment.
I think that if we have a passion for producing that fuels years of practice, eventually we find our sound, and its one of a kind, so its like once you find your sound you don't have to try to stand out. Not that I think I'm there. I'm closing in on it though. Its like a hostage bound and gagged, and I can hear the muffled screams through the maze walls. When I find it, I will free it, so we, together at last, can search for the labyrinth's exit.

Anyways, about these beats...

gis_sweden - The ironic title is a nice touch. The horns at :46 seem perfect. More boombap than your usual but still with that signature GS style of untamed exploratory fun.

tiredoriots - Cool how it falls into rhythm around 11 seconds in. So damn funky! That sliced note does a good job.

Unfolding - Love the intro. The rest of it too. Awesome flip. You seemed to capture the vibe and magnify it.. that kind of rhymed.. gonna have to put that in a song.."trying to capture vibes and magnify them/ i'll do what floats my boat until it capsizes" somethin like that

johnsondontsurf - I dig it. A bit off rhythm at times but in a funky way. I wish the drums were less conventional.

Green Dutch - I can dig the vibe, as well as the image, but its a bit too off beat for me to really get into. And again, the drums. I don't understand why some don't arrange their own drum patterns. For me, sometimes thats the funnest part.

PADER - Extremely raw. Glitches are on point. Awesome flip.

Alnitak_Kid - Seems well thought-out. A great peice. Thanks for the file!

Chopperman - Stop talking to yourself.

MICK DERRICK - Nice minimalist flip. I dig the call and response type effects on the second half.

I vote Unfolding.

Is it too late to change my vote & put one in for Chop's pic?

Homework. Contemplate this.
I’m starting to get tired of that mega compressed lo-fi sound. Yep, it cool different and signals “I use hardware”, but…

The poll is never ending but I guess we can move on now since it's pretty obvious who won this time. If everyone else agrees ofcourse.

If so, our winner of the SPB #142 is PADER! I'd say congratulations and start a new battle mate!
