for sure ... but have to say that for me phemox shit was truely close to get my point. (maybe we should vote through a point-scale or wouldn't that be the "real" battle shit?)

Yeah it's hard to pick fairly sometimes, I really like everything that was made for the creativity people have but Drewzle's beat is the type of beat I'd like to make so he got my vote. I agree that we should devise some sort of point system to have a more accurate voting system.

I dont know if a point system would be worth the complication- but I dont know how strong yall feel about this. I suggest voting for your favorite and just posting props to a close second.
if anyone has any ideas on how this would work, let me know.

It's not that big of a deal since it's all for practice and fun, but it would be nice for the people putting their songs into the comp so they can get more accurate feedback on what worked and what didn't. I have some shit to handle today and I'm kinda hungover from last night, but I figure out a point system and post it so everyone can see what they think and contribute suggestions and changes.

Ideally even the people who just visit the site should be able to vote so everyone can get maximum feedback per beat entered. Does anyone know if the people who just visit are able to vote or do they get a message that says to join to have access to more functionality? That would being interesting to know.

Well, considering how many people voted versus how many people are checking this battle out, I realized that any vote cast for one's self would be obviously cast by one's self(cough cough).

SOOOO...

Upon reviewing each track, I had to give it up to Drew.

His beat was fresh, uptempo, and didn't exhibit much of the cliche I find with SP-users. He wasn't trying to be the next DJ Shadow or J Dilla or Panda Bear.

It had merit in any other arena, be it blog, radio, or what have you.

NICE ONE...!

That being said, is there any way the samples/breakbeats could come from a source left of center(ie. not necessarily 70's r&b/thrift store gems)?
Something nasty with high end production. I mean, that's why God put Vinyl Simulation on the SP-404 8)

Just thinking out loud...

Also, much respect to all who participated...lot's of creative cats in this forum.
