Yeah, the break is just a bonus. If you can freak it without that's even better in terms of skill, but sometimes you just want to have some drums that are sounding right from the start.

You could make a beat all drums and I'd still like it. They always have a full sound, I can hear the reverb you add to fill it out more but you must compress 'em first and run it all through the isolator.

yeah, I always resample my drums with a quick gated reverb when the sample doesnt have an open shot. which is what I did cuz I didnt feel like using the drum break this battle- Thats the meaning of that little joke at the beginning of the beat. :lol:
