1..2..3.. BREAK

I got a question: Do you sample directly from youtube? Is it allowed to pick the zeppelin drums (or any posted sample) from a record?

I like the new feature, that the winner can bring up a drum break, too! Makes shit much easier and maybe more musical...?!
It takes me back to the history of breaks... and it helps me to complete the puzzle of hiphop music. I want to motivate every future winner to keep that idea!!!

(Is subsonic allowed?)

I got that zepplin on vinyl too. I was also wonderin if sampling the same song/sample from another source should be allowed. the rules say "Only use elements posted for the battle" so I guesse not. That rule was made during the ig9 era , aint my fault :P

the problem is that a lot of people would be pissed cause your break would be more crips from the start.
I have that break too and still use the youtube verseion.

seems to be the right decision... wonder how people "boost" up the weak youtube sounds... especially on drums

increase highs, use the compressor, sharpen with the lo-fi effect.

A couple of effects tend to boost the sound, reverb, isolator, compressor, lo-fi and so on, just resample with those. :)

thanx for the hints for boostin up weak shit...
do you chop the drums before you put FX to it?
I mean basic FX like EQ or Isolator.
Most of the time I chop a drumbreak I put the FX afterwards to single drum hits, but that often kills the equality of the drumset... Hope ya understand... I mean that for example the base drum and snare don't sound like they would come out of the same drum break... So how do you get down?

Timestretching (404) was ok, too?

sorry if I'm off the topic...

imo the best thing to do is focus on getting the best sounding individual drum hits. make small adjustments later
