This isn't aimed at anyone in particular, but I think the pace in here has been painfully slow lately. I remember when the regular challenges used to have 7 day deadlines, and a 4 day poll. It's kindof depressing waiting for a poll that lasts a whole week and only gets 6 or 7 votes. And again, I'm not "calling anyone out" or anything... just making a general observation. I think poll participation is actually a big part of the problem... and I know I've been just as guilty of waiting til the last minute as anyone else.

And with the open challenges and the regular challenges, it would be great if there was always an active challenge to jump into... instead of being stalled out like this. I think that was a big part of creating the OC's to begin with. Not saying it's anyone's fault at all, cause it's definitely a group effort in here... but if there are other peeps that think things are going a little slow, let's make a combined effort to get inspired and crank things up a notch.

Yes... no... how do you guys feel about this?

Maybe we should do some campaigning in the other sections for participation in the next round. I think people tend to get locked in on one specific area of the site and miss what's going on in the other sections. I know I do that sometimes. Specifically, if the idea of "battling" doesn't appeal to them. If we could draw them in they would see that it's more about group participation and learning than the actual competition... although that's also a fun element. It's actually what you make of it really.

On the poll duration... would anyone have a problem with taking it back down to 4 days instead of a week?

Yeah Count, I know I've seen some of the fellas post in other sections to try to get people to check it out im sure they do, they prolly just dont vote. IIIII that sound great thats pretty much the schedule I stick with already when I can (Friday if I am lucky). I know people have different schedules tho and that would be tuff on some people. Most guys struggle with the week deadline to finish a beat. So my suggestion would be maybe to keep two SP only battles going on a week as well as the open comps. So like the first one like IIIII said would be Friday, Sat, Sun Due Mon. Then the other could be Tues,Wed, Thurs, due Friday. That way people could get in on one whenever they wanted and the ebb and flow would b steady. Feel me anybody? Enjoy your weekends time for some sun 8)

The main reason people are flaking from the forum is the fact that people are talking more about NON SP related ish.

Life, issues, all sorts of unrelated ish instead of the actual beatmaking knowledge, diggin', working with the SP's.

SP related < Other subject matters.

It's summer in the US.

My excuse is life has just been fucked,
getting settled back down into a routine again tho

I like the broad range fo discussion on the boards,
keeps me comion back & makes it more interesting when you know a bit about the users

These battles need to be more frequent. Even before I regged here I checked 'em out and as far as I'm concerned they're the most exciting thing on the forum (Well, definitely tied for first with a couple other things at least)

That's all, just voicing my support.

P.S. +1 on fri sat sun mon idea.

DAmn guys I am highly disappointed by the lack of professionalism going down in this arena situation. And by lack of professionalism I dont mean lack of quality, I mean lack of initiative for anybody to do anything on there own In the last battle for example Mellow posts the samples squa is the only one to fuck with it for at least a half a week I post my beat then some DUDEBRUX post a beat sounding very similiar to mine an hour later. Then everyone wants to talk about how they want to get a beat in and always push the deadlines back. Then on the other side we have cats complaining about lack of activity but pushing back deadlines themselves. I come up with some good suggestion and get blown off like Im the new kid on the block, whatever. Then this DUDEBRUX wins a battle and we havent heard from him to post the new samples. Seriously how long ago did the deadline end? We are sitting here with no samples. Really I dont need to fuck with this shit anymore as I got a whole nice new crate of records BUT there is something special here that draws me to it, im sure we all can relate. So im gonna take the power back and I will officialy post one of the sp battles only myself a week so we can get two of them going on. Then maybe others will wanna start to help out. STOP TROLLING!!!! If it doesnt apply let it fly if it does its... because. New samples up by the end of day peace people.
