Again, ended up with a lot of dope beats--this collection as a whole might possibly be even more impressive than the last round...and 11 entries again this time, nice. Much respect to all that participated, hopefully these challenges and battles are helping you all continue to evolve and improve, learn new techniques,etc...I know they continue to help me in a big way,and I'm still learning everytime I sit down to do something, espescially in the arena. If a beatmaker ever gets to the point where they think there's nothing more for them to to learn,or no ways for them to get better-they'll never come close to reaching their full potential-this is definitely the main thing that keeps me doing these, besides the fact that it's just fun. Anyway, thanks to everyone too-rhodes is my favorite instrument and you all gave us something nice to sit back and listen to.

Poll will be up for 5 days as usual...so that would be monday the 30th--it would be dope if everyone that comes through here that has the time could drop a vote-lately there hasn't been much voting outside of those that have been participating. it's no doubt worth it to take a half hour or so to check all the beats! Peace.......

Wow I thought every single entry here was real dope.
It was tough but I voted for aD's. His tune hit me the hardest.

Also I need to step it up and come up with longer arrangements haha. I feel like my 1min tracks aren't cutting it :(

Oh ok,word, thanks a lot and-o- & you're completely right about all the beats this time around,so much ill shit.Just getting one vote in this one is a big deal to me...& Count coming back and getting these open challenges moving on a consistent basis was a great idea, and a really dope thing for all of us.btw-don't sell yourself short at all-your beat is mad nice, for real...and we all know you coulda easilly doubled up your track & made it twice as long-there's more than enough going on in it to do so--so the length of your track imo shouldn't impact voting on it. So far I've listened to every beat multiple times and i've yet to decide on my favorite. Thanks again though man. 8)

btw-in case anybody missed my post about this in the other thread-i recorded my shit too loud,so if you turn the volume up past a certain point on whatever your listening with,it's gonna distort some...just wanted that to be clear.

oh crap, there is so much goodness in this thread - where to start ?!

andy-o has my vote, but to be honest I dug them all!
Teewok, IIIII, halcyon rave, blavatksy and a.D. - I could have used a dice to make my decision between those beats. all top notch, so much skill on these forums. unbelevieable and mad inspiring for sure!!

Once again stiff competition. I liked everything. It was close between Blavatsky and Teewok for me with everyone else right behind them. My vote goes to Teewok.

Well, just listened to them all, and man, such different styles and use of the rhodes! So many good beats too (some creative names as well), this would make an ill beat tape lol

Too bad I have to vote for only one person. :(

It came down to blavatsky, blu_lu and and-o for me. Really tough decision. But in the end I went with the Orphan's Prayer

what an incredible mix, each song was a pleasure to listen to. ok, so my vote goes to teewok, his beat was super groovy, had a nice flow, and i couldn't stop listening to it :D . very close 2nd for me are blavatsky and a.d., blavatsky had really nice changes and song structure, and the sound was really good, a.d.'s song was beautiful and i liked the guitar sample.
iiii-sounded like boards of canada, well done :D
and-o-very atmospheric
jakdarabid-cool vocal samples, and mentions mary jzane
rsample-also cool, feels like it could be part of a soundtrack to a gangster movie
blue_lu-funkalicious, 2 aliens could def get it on to this
halcyon_rave- groovy and atmospheric
count sierackula- solid song, good drum changes

Correct me if i'm wrong-but shouldn't teewok and blav each have 2 votes? Both of them have two verbal ones on the thread-but on the poll blav has 3 and tee 1..did someone that meant to vote for tee accidentally hit blav?Just thought i'd point that out.... :?

My boy Blue!!(will ferell voice) I'm surprised blue doesn't have a vote yet-amongst all these beats,to me it was his that stood out the most-just the whole vibe of it gave me the best feeling of all these-not that a "happy" feel-good feeling is what i always like best-but that's definitely what i got from his...also the claps layered over the snares is a real good touch, the unquantized feel isn't overkill, and the use of compression is super dope considering it's all (i really hope!) sp-really sounds like sidechaining. And of course the live rhodesalong with the synth stabs. This is definitely my favorite...close seconds would be blavs and teewoks(bob james or not,u flipped the shit out of that)..and-o's was really nice, same with halcyon,count,mellow,IIIII,Jak..etc etc etc-not anything close to a wack beat here... Really impressive round.

great stuff dudes. some really great shiz in there.

my vote went to teewok, with blavatsky and the count in close proximity.

for me, tee's piece just gelled together more, but i got respect for blav's wicked arrangements and count's mangled melodic structure.

shout out to halcyon rave for a great piece. felt like the instrumental was awesome, and loved that you had vocals, i just didn't feel like they came together in that one.

props to AD for a cool challenge (and cool beat). thot it was a great idea, just didn't have time to get on it myself. props.

and again, great job everyone that threw in. first time i've heard some of you guyseses stuffs. fun.
