Nice one Count! very good mix I thought
Glad to see someone else who will be using other equipment.

what did the RMX1 get used for? I use a RS7000 for my main studio brain usually, that thing is a beast.

Thanks B.

You got an RS7000 huh? I want one of those things so bad. I keep talking myself out of it, but every time I see one pop up that's in good condition I start fiending.

On this cut I grabbed a couple percussion sounds... the chime, and hand clap... and played that little synth line in the middle. The RM1X isn't midi'ed up to my other machines in this instance... I sampled it into the SP's and then sequenced from there. I recently moved and have enough space to add it back into my setup... was thinking about getting my midi routing reconfigured sometime this weekend actually.

In general, how do you like your RS7000? I might have to pick your brain with some more specific questions through PM. Good stuff.

nice, cool to hear how you integrated it.

I really like the RS7000, even the stock sounds are pretty usable (very similar to the RMX1, I think slightly upgraded/expanded). I don't use the sampling on it very much, mostly just the autochop for breakbeats that splits it onto keys (VERY useful). I got mine in a trade for an EMX1 but I did have to spend some $$$ getting all the keys replaced, most were not sounding on it. PM me if you have any questions.

^ sick... that plucky synth is dope. 8)

So you combined the acc and the beat through your mixer... and recorded that output to videotape? Then played the videotape output into your soundcard?

never got the 555... combo'd up with 2 404's then traded the first 404 for an 808ex, traded my 505 for a sampletrak. this is and prob all my battle beats have been 404. and i should have said vst i guess? i'm playing synth from ableton thru my 404 into my tascam since i let my friend borrow my micron

thanks Count, good to see you on the forums again g!
first i played the acapella out the pt01 speaker while tapping along drums into the vcr, then i played back the taped drums into the sp to keep time, got all the sounds i needed on the bank, turned on ext source and played the acapella while playing the beat back into the vcr again. then, vcr outs back into the sp w vinyl sim on, exported to card.

ahha. don't know where I got the idea that you had a 555... been a while I guess.
how do you like the 808ex?

@Kel
definitely good to be back.
nice process... that track came out grimey as hell. I like the sound quality. the videotape idea is great.

Word. I like the 808 a lot too. Mine isn't an ex though. Do you use the synth or vocoder? I think those are the two main differences right? and that dope transparent plastic casing. :mrgreen:
