yo Kel, sick beat man! do you use a 404? do you rec your beat into your pc and what do you do for mastering? what software or plug in do you use? it sounds really good to my speakers and headphone, maaad props!

thanks Antee. yeah, i use a 404. i don't use any software or plugins, just throw vinyl sim on all pads and keep knob 1 at 12 o clock. then i sample it to my mpc and normalize the wav. then straight from cf card to laptop.

wow that's incredible... i listen your beat with my AKG K240 MK2, a really good headphone and it sounds really cool... i don't know why when i try to do what you do my beats don't sound powerfull in volume like this... it's possible that the reason is my soundcard don't have a pre amp?

i'm no expert at anything but i'd say no. but if it's more volume you need, i always keep my sp at +9db, i think it's gives me more audio and less background noise too.

+ 9 is pure distortion

maybe -9? or maybe thats a relative setting like you boosted it 9 db which would make sense

I tried to do something with it when you first put the sample up and couldn't come up with shit. I might try to give it another go tonight.

Kel, you killed it man...shit is ill! But did you just say you used the MPC for something? I thought this was SP only battles? Maybe I misunderstood your post.

i used the mpc just to record the performance coming out of the 404. just hit record and started playing. it's pretty much the only way i can do it cuz my computer's dead and my girlfriend won't let me download any programs onto her laptop. i did normalize the recorded wav in the mpc on its way out just cuz my levels were a bit low, but no fx, eq, comps or anything like that. that's interesting about the +9 db setting. i always feel like it keeps the signal loud and noise low.
