i try: maybe it's the grey tube with wich you can make pass electrical cables inside? i remember an interview with brian eno saying he used those to makes some sounds for his "on land" (1981 i think) album: he made rotation in the air with those to make air pass trough and producing a kind of sound like this; the more rapid you rotate the more you find high pitch. ot nww stands for nurse with wound? if it is, interesting band! |

Sounds like one of those spooky stick/tube things that kids have sometimes.. or could just be some sample bending or synth work |

hmm... how do you make a sound like that with a synth? it sounds organic to me. yep that stands for nurse with wound.. great band! my favorite album by them (him) is 'sylvie and babs'. a rare occurrence that i like a band's later work better than the earlier stuff. the sample is from the 1992 album 'cold'. i again heard this sound on a documentary about haunted places around the world. i will further my search, thanks for the clues! |

well.. the first bit sounds alot like wind chimes or a wind chimey synth sound with heavy phaser/flanger as well as some other weirdness, maybe filter modulation... then there is a little flute-ish bit then the last bit could be one of the first two sounds, but sampled and then slowed down and / or stretched alloooot In fact it could be that the 3 parts are: start - 'start' - however you make this bit middle - 'start' bit pitched up with different effects/arrangement last - 'start' bit pitched down and/or stretched alot, with diff effects/arrangement again (just single note) |

youd be surprised with what sounds you can get from a single synth module. Did you check out any of the demonstrations from matrixsynth.com? you can get that sound with flange and pitch modulation. easy |
