this place is HUGE. do a search for whatever you're after (bass notes, trumpet stabs, etc) and chances are you'll find someone has uploaded it.

Sampleswap:

This site is similar to Freesound, but is a bit newer and smaller. It has a different range of stuff, including some nice loops which are ripe for chopping.
