Those sounds are weak.
Why not just hook a Nintendo or Game Boy into your sampler.

That site is whack!
Whatever happened to originality and finding your own sounds.
All these sound archives and "kits" are so cookie cutter.

Wow dude, that sample origin argument has been played out for a while now. Pretty sure you were the only one that cares about The Laws Of Sampling over here. Wanna start a petition of Freesound?

^Surprised I can even remember that ancient thread

you're the one that's wack and cookie cutter. Listen, I don't have a computer, I sample from wherever, mostly from tapes and vinyls. When I go at the library, I have an hour to find stuff when I feel like it. So, sometimes I go on Freesound and download stuff. Now, I found this file of sounds made with GFXR. I thought some were really cool. Yeah, it's a generator, so what?!! If there's someone that's not cookie cutter and that tries to find original sound sources it's gotta be me. I don't care how long you've been hanging out on this site or how involved. When I see something that i find might be useful to people, I post it. I'm not some kid that just started doing music. I'm 34, i've been doing music since I was 10. I don't need nobody to tell me what's coool and what's not. Stop being a bitch...

FLy lo recently did a track using an oldschool break. Are you crawling in a corner and crying? How much time do you spend on this site anyways, Cookie Cutter? You should spend that much time doing music.... Mr. I-know-what's-good-to-sample cookie cutter..

You sampled Sinatra!!! You're so wack!! at least sample interesting stuff, loser!

At least if your music was any good. But it's typical boom bap, boring-feel crap. You think you're so much better than anybody else. That's the problem with kids nowadays.

What, are you going to diss the Volca sample pack that I did, just because I did it. Thinking that it was a good thing for people that can't afford gear. I don't even use sample packs. But if I can contribute, i will.

just a heads up, there's an even more indepth version of sfxr out:
http://www.bfxr.net/

Image
Quote:
5 new waveforms : triangle, breaker, tan, whistle, and pink noise.
3 new filters : compression, harmonics, and bitcrusher.
Ability to lock parameters during mutation/randomization.
Expanded pitch-jumping abilities - good for arpeggiation effects.
Visualisation
Mixer
Keeps your sounds and mixes in persistant lists.
Can reverse synths
Ability to link directly to sounds

this is old. I've apologized to MattCoop. It was a bad day for me. Anyways, yeah, Sfxr(cfxr) is dope. For 8 bits sounds, it's basic and great. I tried most of these and apart from Chipsounds which is 100$, sfxr is the best free one. And for 8bits synth sounds, NES sounds in particular Peach from Tweakbench is amazing and simple: http://www.tweakbench.com/peach. To be honest, I don't care if a sound comes from a plugin, a record(cd,tape, vinyl), or my ass. I thought about doing a beattape with only filtered ass sounds and it could work. For bass sounds it would be rad.
