Hi there guys,
its my first post and im wondering if someone could tell me what the best software is to create beat matched loops and samples to then load onto my 555. I want to be able to create new loops and edit existing mp3's then layer my samples and make sure that they are all the same bmp, so when i load them i can have a series of loops playing that constantly stay in time with each other.
Sounding like for example the layering of samples and loops on the daft punk alive album?

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated
Regards
Kyle in oz.

ableton, fl studio, logic, renoise

download the demos and do the tutorials to find one that fits your needs

ableton is more geared towards the "intuitive" minded, logic for the "logical"

fl studio is great for quickly doing things but gets very clausterphobic over time.

renoise has some amazing features but feels like you are writing in MS DOS.

then again you dont need any of them

yeah ableton is perfect with that warp[ing shit, cause you can get it looping and warp if necessary to get your hits on point the way you want em and everything in the program stays in sync with everything which is sort of weird but very good for being a loop jockey.

I use my serato scratch program to BPM and find loops. It works well for how i use it.

I found that when I select a small portion of a mp3 file with Ableton and play it back it's soooooooo slow, amazing and utterly useless.
Like, when I do this with goldwave there is never a hickup.
I will look into the other programs mentioned above, hopefully I can finally find a useful and fast program for bpm-matched samples.

Edit:
I simply need a program where I select a range of a song and then set the bpm for that part and export it as wav.

ReCycle doesn't seem to be able to do that.

I'm sure there must be some program to do that, but so far all software I tried was too bloated.

Let's say Goldwave with a bpm-like function would be nice.
