I have used a 1Gb Compact Flash card back when I had a SP-555 (have sold it), so yeah, don't worry 1gb cards will work!

Thanks! Any specific brand that worked? Why did you sell it?

I believe he already has a 404 which is similar to the 555 and he has a 606 which is kinda like the mpc of roland in my mind since the workflow is different and it has some pretty advanced sample editing and sequencing.

Yeah, Doc here is spot on, I had basically too much machines already and decided to sell the SP-555.

I definitely miss some of it's features though (loop-capture for example, if only Roland would release a SP-707, more or less an upgraded SP-606 + loop-capture, that would be awesome), but having the SP-555 and SP-606 together sort of was a mix with too much for me.

As for the brand, yeah Dane Elec 1Gb Compact Flash is what the card has written on the back. It's not any of those 'special' brands. There are also these socalled 'SanDisk Ultra II' cards of 1Gb, that one worked too.

I've heard the Ultra III versions do not work.
