i cannot see how it is done..

i play a loop yes the first loop i get resampled to a pad, i erase the first loop after starting the resampeled one..but if i want to resample the second loop capture the looping sample on the pad - the one i loopcaptured at first - cuts of..
so it doesn;t work..

hit effect assign and record to clear out the loop without stopping everything else.

yes i know.. that but theproblem arises after you have triggered the resampeled loop erased this one on the loop capture and caputured another one.. as soon as you resampe that one the looping previously recorded loop stops.. and since we where talking about looping without s topping the playback.. it is sort of not working

even if you select the "external source only" on the loop capture?
What is a pity is that you can't "BPM resample" so it's hard to have a clean backup.

i would pay $ 1.000.000 cash to anyone who would make a little youtube demo video of this "trick", that is the ability to record different samples to different pads in live situation, without ever pressing "stop", and being able to then play with them independentlly (≠ overdub)

... :) ! cause I can't understand how realistic in a live situation this work around is, and I'm sure a little video tutorial would help loads of people :o

Now i don't suppose there's a workaround to sample from the line in to a pad without stopping playback? Say I have pad 3 playing a loop and I just want to sample guitar from the line in to pad 4 without stopping 3 from playing? I tried to find another thread addressing this but have found no answers, and I'm inclined to believe in unicorns and leprechauns before I believe Roland left out such an obvious, basic feature off on such an expensive piece of equipment.
