So I just purchased a 555 recently. I'm wanting to connect my mackie 802-vlz3 mixer to the 555 so i can loop multiple instruments without plugging and unplugging multiple cables to the 555. Would i use the tape out from my mixer to the line in? or would i need to use a cable to the preamp of the 555? i've tried some things but the signal from the mixer to the 555 is either distorted or drops dramatically after being recorded with loop capture. pleeeease help!

Are you using the rca (red and whites) on the 555 or the mic in. You might be using mic in with phantom power which might be adding distortion. I dont have this problem running through the line in.
