Hola guys! My problem: I've composed a pattern on the SP555 using many drum samples. Now I want to have that pattern on my pc into a track of the sequencer (I use Reaper, similar to Cubase). But not in WAV, I want it like a midi track because I could need to change or move some samples of the pattern.
Can't find that on the manual... Hope you can help me

Hmmm you may try something like a USB to MIDI cable:
http://www.amazon.com/MIDI-Cable-Conver ... +interface

So, you go into reaper, arm a track to record MIDI, hook that guy up (don't worry about audio yet) , hit record on reaper then play on your sequence..the 555 should(?) play back and the MIDI notes record in. Now you can rearrange your notes....then play the track back, and it should play on the SP555 with the tweaked sequence from Reaper.

Not positive the best way to record it after that....don't know if you are using the SP555 USB or separate interface.

Hi!
Now my scenario is a little bit different... I use Ableton and I have an audio interface with MIDI in/out. If I connect SP555 to MIDI in, start the pattern and record from ableton in a Midi track, I will have a clip with midi "notes" (pattern is built with drum wav samples)?

thanks guys! :)

Just to clear things up: the SP-555 has USB-MIDI and works quite well as a MIDI interface itself. So you don't need an external MIDI interface for that. It's just a matter of setting things up.

There's only one scenario that requires an external (audio) interface: multitracking audio live with the sampler engine (playing the pads in realtime).
