i was looking at a thread about 6 months ago that described this, but wasnt 100% clear on how it worked.

im looking to tap a pad (not hold it down) and then when i tap another pad, it will cut off the previous one. almost exaclty like the sp 404 works in delete mode (does the sp555 work like this in delete mode too?)

except i read that you can use the cancel/remain button on the 404/555 to do something similar to this while not in delete mode. id like to use it while sequencing, so could someone confirm that this pseudo mute group works while sequencing? id really appreciate if someone could break down the whole process for me.

i really want an SP for the djlooper effect, but having mute groups would be a HUGE plus for me as well.

if anyone could shed any light id really appreciate it.

thanks.

I don't think there's is an easy way to do this while sequencing.

Delete mode works the same on the 555.

The pattern sequencer itself works as a mute group too.

i see, thanks for the reply.

i was also wondering if you could effect incoming audio in real time.

so say i was going from the stereo outs of my mpc 1000 to the rec inputs of the sp555 or 404, could i use the djfx looper to mangle the audio by just playing it through the input on the sp or would i have to actually record it first?

it would be cool if it could alter the signal on the way in, and you could practice what you wanted to do with the effects for a minute, then you could record it into the sp.

hey sharpmotif, i have been doing more research and figured that i may be able to get this working by saving all my chops as patterns, but my question then would be, can you compose a sequence or pattern out of patterns instead of regular samples?
