Thanks for all the feedback people.

To clear things up a bit: The reason for the update was mostly functional. The forum was using old unsupported software which was hard to add new features to and contained bugs that weren't being fixed. Therefor we upgraded to the newest version which you're seeing now.

This new version has a lot of extra features, perhaps too many. So I'll do my best getting back to the simplicity we're all used to. As for the design itself, it's a work in progress. I know some like the old one better, other people just have to get used to this one and some people in fact like the change.

I will continue improving the design slowly. Remove unnecessary stuff here and there. Adding some more color. Reworking the header, etc. In the mean time, I think this design will do.

@ellaguru
I know what you mean. They are called "breadcrumbs" and I will try to add them today. It's way more easier browsing the forums with 'em.

@jbl
The sponsors have NO control over the website so don't worry about any censorship.

@Olby
We liked the freshness of the previous header as well, but it wouldn't work as well with the current layout (text on top of the image). We'll definitely look into making the header more similar to how it was, but unfortunately it isn't as simple as just switching two images.

The new layout looks really dope. You did well Keesj ;)

However, I dont really like those sites which are almost entirely black/dark cuz when you switch to the other site which is a lot brighter, the difference between colour hits you right in your face.
Just my 2 cents.

Overall rating - 5/6 ;)

Can we finally post with mobile phones? I think this place will get more traffic if we could. Not everyone has access to a computer, especially me when I'm working.

I'm getting this alot when I try to submit a post:

"

You are probably trying to use the euro sign or letters with an accent on top like for example [' ] + [ a ] = error. No umlauts working...

Sorry for the trouble. Looks like the new chat is causing some memory problems. I changed some settings on the server which should solve the problem (for now). If you're still getting this error, please send me an email at marc AT sp-forums DOT com (the error seems to disable PM in some cases) and I'll get right on it.

Update: Implemented a permanent fix. Should do the trick.

Just wanted to say I really dig the quick access bar at the top, "The Board | Battles...", and the Music page with the mixtapes and such looks very slick. Can someone explain the forum status indicators? Sometimes the circle is empty, sometimes it's got another circle inside, sometimes the circle inside is offset... Is there a key somewhere?

Actually, a few minutes after you posted that, I couldn't post anything. Not in normal letters either, so you are totally right. Had nothing to do with funny letters. :)
