for once i feel a company gave me exactly what i was hoping for in the new boss rc-30. can't wait to buy this. only complaint is no midi. and the rc-50 is just so pricey.

huh! look at that! i didn't know this was released. loox cool.

i wonder if they've resolved the 'blinking light sound'....on my rc20xl, you can hear the light flashing in time to the loop's bpm, when there's no loop playing. not a big deal, but annoying in such an expensive pedal, y'know?

got me this poopstation yesterday...

the fx are pretty nice but they left the reverse option; no biggie...
the buttons feel like small sp-pads and the fader seems to be ok.
everything else is built like the older boss pedals; for eternity...
most controls can be done by foot... fx can't be resampled and they are always applied to both tracks. that's ok, cause it's more like a goodie than a real fx section. the pitch/turntable-stop-fx is really cool!
i use it for tablism-live-beat stuff and it's pure fun; i had the rc2, rc20xl, rc50 and the first jamman; i feel like i'm at home now... many, many ideas starting by scratch nowadays; literally.

missin midi, not missin the 6 pedal-action of the rc50, so i'm dumping my loops on the fly into the kp3 for larger "compositions".

i def can say that the lights aren't effecting the output signal anymore.

it's a keeper! :D

very cool, wax. great review. if you put up tracks or vids of you using it, let us know....

...actually do you have vids of you using yr old rc-50? that's the one i'm really interested in and you gotta wade thru some pretty wanky dudes on youchube to see what's up.

i use my rc-20xl all the time, but am wondering about getting a fitty, or just adding another rc-20 8)

maybe i should switch or add a 30?

sorry no videos of the rc-50...

things i didn't liked about the rc-50:
-the pedals / a pain to use without shoes; way to small, only plastic, weird response -> makes it harder to get clean loops
- the unit itself is as big as a microkorg / no batterie support

- as i said the rc50 required a lot of foot action, i couldn't concentrate on, cause i got my hands busy on the decks... for example... to stop all loops you need to press 2 pedals (rc30- press stop pedal twice), if you want to record or stop on one of the 3 loops you need to assign it first then press rec or stop... (switching between the tracks on the rc30 can be done by holding the right pedal)
on the rc50 there is an extra for pedal for undo/redo, i still prefer the old way of holding down the pedal to undo. 6 pedals are just too much for me... I mean now the rc-30 is a 2-track and you control most things with the 2 pedals; very well programmed 'os' i think!

so are 200bugs more worth it for another track and midi?
-not for me; even if i love the 50's massive i/o's...
(each loop of the rc50 has an individual stereo-out)

so why do i prefer the rc30 over the rc50?!
-it's a really a great update to the rc-20xl (stereo!!!) and it's even cheaper then the rc-20 back in 2001. it's a turn-on-have-fun-machine! everything works like it's used to be and the 2-track took it to another level and the fx are really useful.

since the rc50 is out of stock i'm sure there is more to expect in the next years.

...oh and they switched from a 9V- batterie to 6x1,5V AA's...
undo/redo works only for the last recording, not for each loop...

to break it down the rc30 is less stressful then the rc50 when it comes to handling (no screen/menus either !!); i mean all these beatbox cats using it with their hands for a reason...

thanx boss!

so there it is, inspired by this sp-insider info, i picked up an RC-30 a week ago. so far, i'm really happy with it. i'm using it to run an sp-202 and vocal mic into a PA, while i use my RC-20xl to run a guitar into my amp. so basically i can run loops on loops in a couple of different directions.

without considering the use of un / re-do, this set up means i sort of have a live-off-the-floor 3-track happening now. if you consider the un / re-do, its a 6-track :)

the 30 is pretty wicked. intuitive and yeah, just having that extra track adds a LOT of possibilities.

so fanx for the info dudes. i'll let you know how it goes.
