im bidding on an mpc and a 303 at the moment and i have a few questions. i probably should have asked before i bid but fuck it, its only money, beats mean more.
but i need to know how the mpc can use the 303's effects to resample. like in my head im thinking that theres a way to run the out of the mpc into the 303, add an effects to the incoming signal then sample it back to the mpc. i dont know if this is possible to sample and play a sound at the same time on the mpc and thats what i need to know. if thats not possible, how would you use the 303's effects with the mpc.

huh. that's a good question about the loop from the outs to the ins. i'm not really sure...but let's figger it out.

first, it depends on what mpc yr getting. i have a 1000, and it has dif outputs. so, i COULD run drums (for ex) out of the stereo outs, put that as input into the sp, and use the FX on those. this is what i usually do and just run that into the mixer.

but i also know that i can hit play on the mpc, and record into the mpc while that sequence is playing (for ex: adding a bassline live while the beat loops).

therefore, i would think it would be possible to run something out of the mpc into the sp, and also out of the sp, back into the mpc, cuz all the elements are there.

either way, the sp / mpc combo is a deadly one. tons of ways to use these boxes together. good luck, happy bidding.

nice, think that answers my question. if you can play a secuence or a sample out to the sp and sample that sp back in, then im cool. i dont think the 2000xl can do this, i know the 1k can sample like that and sample its own outs. ill figure something out. even if i have to sample into the sp, resample a bunch then send it back, screw it. i think i could probably sample a bunch of hits back to back, like instruments not kits. then sample em back to the mpp and chop em up there with the waveform in front of me. i just need to find a fast way to make grooves. i read this madlib interview where he's like, i dont stay on a beat for too long, im already on the next beat even before the other is done. thats probably why he likes the sp's, but im like that too but i like to sequence. so getting a mpc and a sp will do me wonders i think.

yeah, its a good point, spring. i fink the mpc is a slower workflow than the sp's, but the two together can give you the best o' both worlds.

are you bidding on a 1000?

i know that you can get the 8-outs for other mpcs....maybe once you have those you can sample the mpc into itself. not sure.

im bidding on a 2000xl, worse comes to worse, ill just sample into the 303, resample, then chop on the mpc.

With the 303, you can send the signal of the record player thru the 303 using its effects and with Ext Source and sample it into the MPC, no need to sample into the 303 then into the MPC, unless you want the sound downgraded.
