either they have failed at selling that product, or it is really average..

I was expecting it to be mega UW/RAM machine influenced.. even moreso than the MDUW.. but they've mentioned nothing of the sort.

Fortunately for you, other styles of music can be produced with this box as well ;)

That machine is gonna rock when it drops!!! It practically stretches samples in real time in Pitch or Timestretch form without the choppy noise of an SP. It'll be out by Christmas!

Since is made by the makers of MachineDrum, the price could be $1,000 U.S.D. But the build is a combo of old school gear with the new tech of today. Its amazing! Don't sleep.

Also: 8 stereo tracks with 2 effects on each :D
Reads samples directly from CF cards, up to 64gb currently supported.
Amazing...

I agree.

I'm in the market for a sampler right now and i'd be willing to wait for this if I could just get some answers. Like:

Will there be a slicing funtion?
More than 1 sound per track?
visual waveform?
Chromatic sampling, or the ability to change the length of a pattern and do overdubs, mute groups and layer sounds.

1 sample per track as far as i know..
slicing can be achieved by modulating the start point and retriggering the sample
chromatic sampling... kind of. you modulate the pitch however you want it to be
mute groups.. you can mute/solo the 8 tracks
layering? I dont know what you mean... it has 8 tracks that can play at any point in time

Thanks for the reply Cartesia.

With mute groups I meant like how on an MPC you can turn a playing pad off by hitting another pad.

With layering I meant will it have the ability to stack say 3 kicks on top of each other

I was watching a Octatrack video today and the guy stated that it will have more than one sample/sound per track.

Also he stated it will be playable in realtime but they don't want to give too much info too early.

So everyone on the Elektron forums are praying for the best but many are expecting it too just be a tweakable loop player.

We will see by the end of the year though.

well.. it doesnt have other 'pads' to hit.. so no mute groups..

the elektron stuff is really for sequencing, the boxes themselves you can't really bang on pads to play things.. I mean you kinda can but thats not what they're focused on/aimed at..

you will no doubt be able to use a midi control if you want to hit the pads and play samples but it doesnt have features based on that method of use.. the power is in the sequencer/modulation..

a 12-bit drum sampler?

they don't really say much about one-shot samples...
