As per title.

I've been using ableton live but I'm not really into software, going to buy an E-Mu command station..

They're along way from small/portable but I freakin loved it when I had one before, they have a sweet rompler in them too

i recently got a Yamaha QY70 which i plan to sequence my hardware with (small and portable). the way it looks though, i'll probably record the MIDI data into the QY from Ableton Live (much easier to program and edit in the PC)

Depends. If I'm making loops or sequences I use the 606s sequencer - it's really easy to use, quick and gives great results. I record everything into soundforge; always have (since version 1 - before that I recorded into protracker).

From soundforge I take the sequences to Sony Acid and track them.

From Acid I bounce tracks into four groups - drums, bass, leads, pads.

Then I can take songs sequenced on the computer onto the 606 again so I can play without the computer connected.

I don't really do vocals but vox samples are dropped in on the fly from the 606 to give that slightly off, live feel.

So it's hardware to software to software back to hardware for me.

I don't like to ever limit my choices when it comes to making a track

I use Reason 3 now but am looking to get 404 asap. Sick of staring at a computer screen.

I sequence in my 303 but I record into audacity on my mac or soundforge on my pc, and that's all I need.

I mostly use the sequencer on my MPC1000, and then track into Cubase.

I use the 4 bar sequences of my electribes, and the 1 bar sequence of my DX200 when I'm not using Ableton.

I go back and forth between an ASR-10 or a Yamaha RM1x for sequencing.

sequencer means sequencing midi notes, in other words this is the pssibility to order notes (or samples, if you want) to make patterns or tracks...
sp303 got a poor sequencer
sP404 got a sort of "live sequencer" (you can change patterns by choosing live the next one)
sp505/606 have the same as 404 plus track sequencing etc etc

some other machnies (drum machines for examples) got also sequencer inside

you can use a sequencer to drive another machine's notes via midi
