thanks ella your BOSS.

my bad, i went to ebay to complain, then read the description, turns out he explained but i forgot to read the details . so the deal was legit,

so I took it apart, be carefull . the wheel, is connected from 1 board to the other, it kinda snaps together with the metal teeth that you have to bend to seperate the boards to get to the pads.

pretty simple, 2 sets of screws,

1 for the bottom to take off the plastic case,

1 to get the main board out of the plastic. , unplug the data cables and screen cable carefully , unscrew the main board, oh yea make sure the knobs and wheel are removed, be really carefull there is a copper sheild that might tear, because it soldered to the 2 boards sp flip it over and unscrew the last screw.

pad fix with aluminum tape trick.

First attempt SUCCESSFULL !!
The membrane pads have what looks like a graphite or other conductor stamped on the rubber pads, it appears when this conductor wears off the pads the pads become bunk. so I took a little tiny peice of aluminum furnace tape and folded it so the contact part had no sticky on it, it is a little tricky, and real ghetto fix, because im not shure how long the glue will hold to the pad. so im going to research more and find out where to get that magic conductor stuff .

So for the first repair attempt, I only fixed 1 button.

reminded me alot of the inside of a roland MS-1 , and you should be reall carefull because you have to pretty much break it to get it open. (datawheel connected to boards with teeth. )

so I will only open it again next time to fix the whole thing with the right memnrane conductor stuff . anyway, i shoulda took pictures, but I managed to fix the worst pad, and now its the best pad. only 1 side of the pad tho.

Could you please tell me how to open up the dr-202 ?

My Kick and Snare Pad are not that sensitive... is that normal? it only Triggers good when i push in the middle of the pad but not when i hit the side/Corner of the pad.

i had something similar with my sp-555 and "repaired" it myself, but as i opened the DR-202 i saw that copper plate. i unscrewed four screws (one is under this copper plate and i cant unscrew it) but can't take the Mainboard out. i think it's Held together near the edit-dial-Wheel how can i open this Thing up to clean the Pad Contacts?

really appreciate every tip on this!

Just spotted a DR202, with power supply & manual for $95. I've been thinking of getting one, and now I definitely will. Later, I think I'll scrounge some pennies on a SP202, because they belong together. Just wish I knew where to find a good, cheap, dj mixer with 4-5 channels in my area.

It seems you can't view the PDF manual without paying to see it! Anybody happen to have a way to print it?

Thanx Scopebeats! I'm going to go print this at the library. Can't afford a 202 right now, and my audio in of my Sp505 seems to be acting up, but I still got my Electribes, ST224 & Akai S20, so I've got what I need!

Stupid library can't print anything beyond 75 pages. The manual is 96 pages. No choice but to go to Kinkos!

So I decided to connect the Dr 202 audio/midi to my Electribe ER-1 mk2's audio in. And maaaaan, it was fun to slave it to the Er-1! I boosted the audio in's signal from the 202's audio out. Bass can get hella distorted if you crank it all the way, so about half way sounds fine. Once I hit play on The Electribe I was getting a perfect acoustic/electronic kit from hell! Or an acoustic drummer playing anything the electronic drummer can. I'm bummed my SP505 is all fucked up right now and can't be part of this jam. But later I want to dig out my ST224, or S20. In theory I should have a channel in midi to control my samplers.

I also got a DX200 I ought to try and match up. They are both 3 channel setups, so I don't see why not. I'm off the 4th, and I'll have plenty of time for setting up all the power/audio/midi cables.
