thats pretty cheap. The pads on a lot of them go bad. So get ready to replace something.

i plan on getting all i need for it. its actually @ the local Guitar Center. that jjos is crazy from what ive been reading.

@ 450 it cant be beat. figure a buck 20 for the ram and 20gb hd and 40 for the jjos and im still no where near what others pay in store.

i plan on running it w/ my 606. only thing i need is a mixer for all those outputs.

im running pro tools but im seriously consicering switching to cubase cuz pro tools gets too too expensive w/ some shyt

yeah, i'd be all over that for $450. i'm looking at them up here in can and they're more expensive (but would be the same w/ conversion, shipping, duties, etc.).

i would think there'd be a lot less 'workaround' going on w/ the 1k.

I spotted one yesterday, but my buddy was with me, and found out that some of the pads don't work, and the OS is old, and jj.os would needed to be installed. Plus they wanted $500. (But the manager said they'd knock it down a bit for the repairs I'd have to invest in it) But I'd rather buy one that works, so I think I'm going to pass.

My friend showed me what the MPC1k can do, and now I want one. It looked kinda complicated, but it seemed to have more you can do to create a beat than my sp505. (But I've got better effects that the MPC don't). He doesn't have any synth or keyboard, so we didn't really sequence anything with midi, but I'm curious to know how it's sequencer works for playing midi tracks.

Just gotta decide when I'm ready to buy one...

found a used one at my local guitar center about a year ago. black, upgraded black pads and jjos for 350. was using it for a while but u had to hit the pads too fucking hard imo. flipped it for 450 and bought a 555. i would say try before you buy for sure.

edit: woops this topic is 5 years old haha

I didn't really want to make a new thread on the mpc1k if there was another already, even if it was 5 yrs old.
