what i like about this machine vs the volca one is that you can directly sample from it

Yeah that can be heard here, pad 13: https://youtu.be/NmJoW-tiBSM?t=22m53s
Also during live recording "notes will be quantized along with current swing setting.", so not exactly the same as changing the auto correct from 1/4 to 1/8 and so on...

need proper demos.

Wow, that was bad ass, Doesn't look all that hard to do either. OP-1 is on my wishlist and will have one eventually.

Saw the comparison, not sure why so many are confused. I know they both record audio but one samples and the other manipulates with synthesis. Ordered the 33 but the 35 does look like a lot of fun, just not something for me.

Looks lik stock may have run out with the first batch, don’t think I’m getting mine soon.

Got me thinking though, all these features in a device a bit bigger then a credit card and all Roland can do is change the faceplate and rebrand. Crazy.

Enough said. Roland's still the best to make gear with (our) credit cards

Looks interesting. Does anyone know if you can record a music sample, one without drums or clear transients, manually chop it up and spread it across the buttons?

You can record to the drum slot and it will auto slice if that’s what your asking. Don’t have one yet so not sure how good it is.

Units are slowly rolling out. Here's one vid testing the audio quality (not mine) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxsWpipIzhg
Some artifacts can be heard using the mic.

In the comments Teenage Engineering corrects that recorded audio is 8-bit, µ-law companded, 23437.5 Hz samplerate.
By ear I'd say the sampled audio loses some highs compared to the source.

Oh... :(
I read about polyphony limit (4 notes) But I expected It means 4 samples. As video proved, Samples in 1 Drum slot count actually as 16 samples.
So Accurate Beats used:
1 High Hat
1 Snare
1 Kick
from drumbreak
1 bassline
1 strings
(he didn't run to polyphony limit, because he didn't use all samples at one point - no Kick+Snare at the same time)
then he used clavinet sample and then he pushed the polyphony limit...

Mine landed Saturday, crazy weekend so limited time but wow. For the size/price this thing is bad ass. Had a pattern up and going in minutes with included and recorded samples. The pitch and chromatic are worth the price alone. Trimming a sample is incredibly easy too, you can even chain patterns for a song mode. It’ll make a great addition With the SX. Though 40 seconds comes quick so have to be thrifty. Lots of work today/tonight but will be sure to fire it up.

I thought 40sec is kinda generous compared to some classic samplers. Which made me wonder would the classic method of sampling in faster speed and slowing it back down in the po work here too. Haven't seen anyone bring it up on other forums. Give it a shot when you got the time.

40 Secs is generous unless you're spoiled by the SX and a decent card. Are you talking sampling to another device faster then back to the PO ad slow it down or all in the PO?

More in lines with the first option. With the sp1200 (10sec, 2.5sec per sample) producers used to put the records on 45 then slow/pitch it down in the sp. It's on wikipedia even. More recently this was possible on the Volca (65sec limit) https://youtube.com/watch?v=KpdQ-hXA81s
Makes the sound grittier too.
