Yo,
I recently bought an MPC1000 mainly for sequencing samples from the SP404SX and it is a wondeful machine. Still have much to learn about it, but im already loving it.
The thing is i want to know how to record the tracks from the mpc to my pc with ableton to mix them there. I was planning to record the single tracks to sp and then put the sd card in the pc. for example record the highhats on one pad, the kicks on another and so on. but it is fucking hard, because i cant listen to recorded tracks while recording in the sp.
My question is, could i use the 4 assignable mix outs on the mpc and connect them to an audio interface and record 4 tracks simultaneously but seperated from each other to ableton? is this possible and if yes what kind of audio interface do i need? probably one with 4 inputs or?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, i just want to be sure before buying an interface.

You can record six outputs at a time (6 mono/3 stereo or a combination of those). Yes, every output needs an input on your interface.
