reverb is ok
deleay too, but you cannot do feeback joke as Dakim style etc, it isn't infinite. is cool.
the other fx are good, times stretch is very good, with exciter and dimension you can try a little mastering in the box (helped with volume/bass too): filters fx are very good too. Compression is less colourful than the SPs, but is a good comp fx too
if you have other question go ahead

are any of the effects comparable to anything like the 202, 303, 404

i think delay and reverb are better conceived on the SPs...
if we talk about sp202 and 303, the filters fx are better sounding and conceived on the st224
step cry is uncomparable
time stretch is better on the st224
dimension and exciter (some sort of) are on sp606 808 and i bleieve on the 555
the other fx are cool on the each sides

ST 224 FX better than SP202 and about the same as SP303. Nothing great and has what you need. Compressor and filters. You gotta remember Zoom has made guitar FX pedals for decades, so the quality is good for what is offered.

ST224 Pitch is better than SP202 because it can be chromatically pitch scaled.

If you are trying to compare the ST224 to the SP202, the sampletrak is like owning 2 SP202s. The features aren't really comparable though.

Hi,
I don't know the 202 and only used the sampletrak for a little while. Haven't touched it for a year I'm afraid. What I appreciated about the Sampletrak:
- nice, soft pads (feels friendly ;-)
- ---//////
- nice workflow,
- easy to tune and pan samples
- nice lowpassfiltered sound when sampling lofi
- you can easily pitch a sample up 36 steps, resample, and pitch back for crunchy glitch

The fx I didn't look into that much.

There's quite a few reviews out there on the sound, effects, and workflow of the SampleTrak.
There's even some tutorials on Youtube. (peep 7th City and Ki of NC)

If you can find one for decent price, BUY IT!

I bought mine for $70. And it was best investment I've ever made.
