So I got the usual noob question of someone that isn't able to fiddle with the equipment hands on to figure out where they differ.

I recon there are two different KP3, the KP3 and the KP3 plus.

What are really the differences between those two?

And what about the differences between those and the Kaoss Pad Quad?

I've searched the forums but I've only found comparison with the KP2 and I've browsed the internet but I got so much trash information that I figured I could just come here and have you guys enlighten me so I can get real information from real people <3

Also, throw in the equation the first Kaoss Pad Mini (the new one is fugly) as I've just read it has the same looping options what is mainly what I'm looking for, depending on how good the sequencing and sample-playback options are on the KP3

the new kp3 plus seems to offers just some non significant updates on some fx (filter, modulation, lfo) and resampling (but you can do it on the kp3 or not? i forget it), that in my opinion don't justify the price: 349 usd...
it's better an used kp3.
i have kp3, kp2 and mini kp (the one you say) and i cannot answer well 'cause i don't use them that much as i should. But i remember that the mini has a noisy sound that i don't like very much; it's ok for live or djing but that's all...on the other side it has cool sampling capabilities

Yeah I've heard of the lower sound quality on the KP Mini, good to know that from a reliable source.

All reviews I find of the Mini are usually from chiptune guys who hook it up to their game boys and they all love it because it runs on batteries :D

Anyways, how is the sequencing option on the normal KP3? Can you put in you own samples? How long can they be, is there a limit?

I was considering this gear for live sequencing of loops and for the loop and delay/reverb effects (not a fan of filters and shit). It also does some granular synthesis-like effects if I recon correctly?

Also, how many effects can you have on at the same time?

Thanks for your feedback man!

you can put your own samples loading via a card, not a quick operation indeed; i forget how long thay can be
you can use one effect per time (but some of them come "doubly": filter+delay, reverb+filter etc)
for the granular synthesis: well, there is some modulation and bit crush (for glitch fx)and some cool looper fx (for granular synthesis like-sp404 looperish like)

Thanks man. The Kaoss Quad allows for one effect of each group and it's cheaper, so I'm leaning to think that is a better option than a KP3 because I don't think I'll be doing much sampling there, having the 404 and all :D

Thank you for your help!

The kp3 had 2 major drawbacks:
1.When loading/saving samples ,audio is muted
2.One fx per time it's ok. But you can't bypass fx per sample so one fx applies to all samples.

So quad all the way!Unless you find a used ipad2 (and a usb audio interface) and go for LiveFX:
