First Impression. If you like sound manipulation software and dont like sitting in front of a computer all the time because you work in front of a computer. If you have an Ipad, fucking get this thing. Just watch the video and you will know what im talking about. Only con is that you cant record your performance and export it. But again, exporting would involve a computer and fuck computers. Pop in a sound sample through itunes (the only computer part) or just load it up with single instrument samples and play to your hearts content recording it all into your 404 and chop it up, get busy.

Kinda like have a multisampling keyboard and a korg kaoss quad with realtime audio manipulation wrapped all in one.

I'm gonna wait till it actually can sample and also has some sort of save/file system before I jump aboard. I was super excited about this last week until I realized those negative aspects. Also not being able to "resample" a performance is a pain. The interface is dope and it looks super playable, but I've bought plenty of apps with the hopes of updates only to get let down.

Thanks for mentioning it tho as I'm sure others out there would enjoy it as is
:)

It's 6 tracks with 6 poly per track. Overdubbing only. No sequencer per say.

ya, im not seeing it as a sampler, more like an audio manipulator. They have samplers for sampling. Ive already loaded up a vocal sample of some chick saying i love you, and freaked the shit out of it. Then sampled my freaking. Being able to record my touches is all i think you should need unless you were looking for an all inclusive machine which would end up lacking on other features. The only negative i have is having to link to itunes which is the worst program ever made. If i could upload through an ftp like beatmaker, or use a quick app like nanostudio and nanosync, id be all good. But whatever, cant have it all. I just love the manipulation tools and running that through delay. So fucking fun and everything sounds great, like instant great sounds.

Android needs to sort out latency with the core OS audio engine. No app can compensate for that mess. That's why it's 3-4yrs later and there's still no "good" audio programs. There's 3 that come to mind. 1. Caustic 2. Nanoloop 3. Supreme MPA. In comparison to iOS music apps these are just toys. There's just too many Android devices out there for google to spend much time in this department. In the end it's always up to the device manufactures to support the latest build of android and get it compatible with their devices. It also doesn't help there seems to be a new version of android OS every month or two. Android is great for what it does, but don't expect any big advancements in the music app front.

Sunvox, SPC and Zquence are nice too.
But personally i'm just using a smartphone with android so i cannot compare how tablets are/aren't that cool. And before jump on them i'm curious to see how the new windows are....

Samplr is really cool an adds some crazy sample manipulation capabilities. One of the ways to get around the hassle of using iTunes to import samples (major workflow killer:) is to use iFile. It requires that you jailbreak your device (takes one click with Absinthe) but then you can copy and paste samples from any app. right into the Saplr folder and load them right up!
