Check it yo.

Looks like the instrument version of the KP3. FX, sampling, synth sounds, and you can save pretty much everything to SD.

Nice move from Korg, I just think they should've gone for SDHC for this and the KP3.

Digitech released a stereo version of the JamMan and a compact (RC-2 kinda) version, both feature USB for loop management and SDHC slot.

Yeah SDHC would've allowed hotswapping of loops.. BUT.. they already know people will buy this shit, so I guess theyre savin SDHC for a later update again ...

goin out all guns blazing isnt good for business.. gotta slowly trickle out new tech so you can get people to buy 3 or 4 new products rather than 1 or 2

Kaossilator stuff isnt really for me, I can't wait to see what beardyman does with the vocoding though!

If you want this, better buy the KP3 instead. It's sort of like a reissue all around anyways. Don't know if many folks here have or have messed with the KP3, but it sort of already has many of the synths on there.

yes
i hink it's better to wait 'till we know this machine...better
i don't know if the looper fx are there for example...if they are, this could be a great machine.
for the KP3 opinion we have to wait for HD...

they're quite different really.. I think it depends if you want an FX box or a sound source + vocal alterer

KP3 only has like 3 or 4 synths on it,and they're more wacky LFO / noise type stuff - and the pitch doesnt lock to any key, so its pretty hard to play it melodically using the pad.. Also only has a few limited vocoder things..

The KOPro has the arpeggiator with selectable key/scale etc, heaps of vocoder patches, heaps more synths, plus the real instrument sounds

I get the idea that the looper section is at least slightly different on this compared to the KP3. No manual available yet...

yea!

overdub possible without using up a separate loop slot... pretty damn useful!

also they dont seem to have the 8 slices thing (the slice buttons dont light up in the loop-edit/loop mixer mode), instead the encoder changes the loop length...
which is weird that they've gotten rid of the slices, which could already technically change the loop length, but do so much more as well...

I guess they just wanted to make it different to try and convince people to buy both. :P

Hope it has MIDI output. Would be great to control and possibly sequence softsynths n shit with it. From what I've read the KP3 does a good job as a midi controller the KPro should follow suit.

will be interesting to see if the arp will output notes in midi controller mode.. could make it a cool way to play any midi instrument

It's already changing my view a bit on the Kaossilator Pro, it has a more sophisticated synthesizer / arp, but I wasn't exactly blown away by the demo either. Might be a good solution for more serious users of the other Kaossilator though. I think the Kaossilator Pro has been a good move.

If I got it right the A/B/C/D pads send notes and the touchscreen sends CCs and stuff.

Two more videos:

---

Too bad they're playing mostly the same stuff on every video I've seen, no wonder why the guy appears to be just a little bit bored doing the demo.
