I've had my eye on it, but it seems redundant with how i use my 505.

Microsampler is dope. Imusing it with a 404sx nd here are all the thing i use alot

37sample instead of 12.
-Loop a small potion of a sampler, turn in to keyboard mode. You got youself a synth. Sometime sounds natural sometimes wierd/glitchy but its sooo fun.
A really nice and decent pattern sequencer.
Midi controller? (Thats what i use to control my shruthi1)
You can pan samples?

To be honest i usually set up drums in 404 the jam my samples on the ms1. Ilol resample my performance while drums are plsying in 404. Than sample itin 404.

Sorrrry for drunk post. The ms1 is fucking dope.

Keygate samping!!!!

Yo
Just got a used one....
I guess I'm looking to resampling the pattern sequencer.
I'm probably going to run my sample sources into my 404sx, then run the 404sx directly into the microsampler.
I'll then flip flop this chain for when I want to sample into the 404sx.

I just only messed around with it for a few minutes, but I'm thinking this thing is gonna be a classic for me!

Any other cats using both the MS and the SP in tandem? Any thoughts or examples on how you interact them in your setup and workflow?

Rad!

Still rocking that, I was close to selling it twice and cancelled the deal knowing I would have a hard time making track without it. I should really make a video on how I use it. I USE IT ALOT.

Got mine last Friday. I love it and is everything I expected it to be except for 2 things that I wish it was: better timestretching/pitch shifting and higher volume output. The timestretching is not a big deal... it's still OK for minor changes. When connected into my 404sx, I cannot seem to peak out the levels.

Other than that it's dope and easy to sample with. I run all my sampling audio through it. Sampling all the monotrons and a KO2 showed me how valuable those Korg toys can be. I've been filling those banks up fast with shit I've been watching on Netflix and Youtube. I can remix anything right after listening to a bar or two.

the pitch and time stretch is ridiculously good.
its raw as hell, you can get the warble time stretch like SP or pitch (chipmunk+warble)
i am assuming you have an SP,

try to
record from your microsampler into your SP at full volume or with compressor ON either machine

you could also go

korg MS ->mixer(boost the volume) ->SP ...or vice versa

I agree, the volume is a little low, but if you don't have a mixer you should invest, its a valuable tool if you bounce between machines and it adds some nice sound to your beats...if its not
.......wait for it.... BEHRINGER

@rabot, dude I also use it with my struthi one but...
I can't hear the recording of my sequence unless I hit loop on. Then it gives me that tone. I really want to toggle between record and play with the sequencer, using keys then record back into the ms. Can't seem to do it. Not really a biggie but it would be nice to avoid using the 404 as the ms has such a nice loop capture. Oh well.
Do u get my meaning btw?

My ex-roomate has one, and he showed me some things it can do. I was kinda meh about it, but now thinking back, this would be a great tool for filling in any voids at sp can't cover, and the fact that you use USB to send/receive samples, so that's one benefit I can see of having one.

I still hate how "toy" looking it looks, like a Fisher Price keyboard that Korg adopted, but oh well. I just hope my fingers can use it's setup if I ever buy one.

quick question, what is trimming samples like this. I guess its similar in respects to the sps where you use the dial to adjust start and end points?.

Also I been watching the videos and is it as easy as it sounds, sample a loop and then press a key to sample that particular section, and then press another key to sample another and so on?

Sounds better than an asr

How about trimming samples, is it accurate enough similar to a sp 404sx?.

I would love to see a video someone demonstrating how fast it is and a general work process for a simple beat please. looking to get one to compliment my mpc.

yes it's very accurate. you can trim via percentage which is fast but sometimes not accurate enough (especially when it's a long sample). if you trim via numbers (you see the start and end point as e.g. "84889330") it's not as fast but still ok. and yeah, the keygate sampling is the fastest ever. i would make a video but my camera is too cheap and i'm too lazy :)

Cheers mate, how easy is it access the trim options. It seems like alot of menu diving, am I incorrect?.

So if you had a choice between sp404sx vs micro sampler which would you pick.

you can go to the trim page by pressing the edit button and hitting the key for start point or end point (every key has a function written above) what i don't like about the dial is that there's no raster so you can scroll to the menus real fast but have to be exact to get the right page. but it's still ok, just a minor problem for me.
between 404 and ms? hard to decide. i probably would go for the ms because i'm a keyboard player. but i had the 404 before i got the ms and wouldn't sell either of them.
