I always wanted the R8 but every time I had the money to buy, some shit goes wrong like a car crash, forgotten debts, or sick dog. I actually made a thread here about it. The sampler section seems nice but no pitch, just timestretch and timestretching is by the bars, not by BPM. Could be dope but I never got one...yet.

I have the DP008 and the DP03CD both still kicking for the last 7 years. In fact, I still got the DP01 and that has a freak gain control, and that is still kicking since I bought it in 2002.

Like the DP-006 as well, sampler on the R8 looks interesting but I got that covered with the 404. Probably end up grabbing whatever when a good eBay deal goes through. That’s the Beauty of it, try it, then resell if no good for minimal retail fees. Ironically the R8 was going cheap used but now has jumped up quickly.

the st224 is a beast, but it hasn't got enough sampling time to be compared to the R8...this last one it has faders too, so here is another difference...and, also, it has 8 tracks...saying that, i don't know much the R8 sequencer (if it has one) to say it better
