hello
hope not to be off topic but

Aware of the sp808 ide or cardreader problems, in adition or evolution, I wanted to look for a new sampler more rencent

But I'm really desapointed of new machines in the market, fully fonctions that i dont need, like complicated sequencer part (that i make instead in a computer)

In two words, need simple and audio

Can you advice me on a machine the more Similar to the sp808, but more recently.

well-knowing that :

it "MUST" have :

Some good effects that are the great advantage of the Sp
maybe more than 4 traks but I dont care
It must sample a long duration like 30 minutes in stereo
maybe it can read Wave or aif
maybe the soft can work on a mac lol
maybe dynamic pad
resampling
I dont care of the factory sample. i've mine
do not need evoluted midi part
timestrech can be usefull
minimum of sync between computer

think of roland mv8000 for exemple, but.... complicated

HAve an idea?
All marchines

If really not, i'll stay on SP, but for how long....
the question is, what do you like, what would you buy today, if the sp didn't exist anymore ????? :(

(sorry for this deplorable English
:D)
and
happy new year

i tried to come up with a response to yr post, man, but i think it is pretty hard.

you DO give criteria for what yr looking for, but there's just SO many difference between machines, and people's personal faves and stuff. it is REALLY subjective.

i recommend you spend some time going through the different sections of the site reading about each machine (so the 404, 555, 505, 606 sections) to hear people's thoughts and what they've made on their box.

Or you could use the search function and look for posts with "versus" or "vs", so you can catch all the "sp-555 vs mpc 1000" threads and such. the search function can be yr best friend on this site, cuz dudes are pretty straight up with their opinions.

but it sounds like you may be interested in the sp-606....

good luck!
