I just stumbled upon this site while trying to find a manual for my 808ex (Roland doesn't have them online anymore.) About ayear ago or so I traded a DR-202 and a Sp-303 for the 808ex. I program the beats for my band in Reason 4 then import them to the 808 for playback. So far we just use it for song playback but we are hoping to do a lot more with it.
you can do a lot with it but the manual is a bitch! they have a dvd manual for it which looks more helpful ''but'' it's like $30.00...

but if you like 200 pages of reading....

i read it and i'm still a little lost. if anybody can explain to me how to program a user patch, i would be grateful. honestly most times i turn it on for half an hour or less b4 jumping to my 404 as it's just so much easier(but more limited too.)
i'm part of the yahoo user group as of recently and am planning a formal invite sooner or later.
the 808 feels like it's right, i just don't get it yet. the manual is garbage.
