Why? You don't like the ex version? But anyway you need a midi sequencer to play the file which can be downloaded from Roland

No i love it, however i needed to format my disks as i haven't yet got the 250 drive.. got away with formatting a few times but eventually my disks died... the sp wouldn't accept the old OS, and like an idiot didn't do further research about dumping the old OS to disk... only a week to wait so no big deal now i guess.. thanks for the reply though!!

cheers

if i update my os, do i have to use a 250mb zip drive??
I am happy with my 100mb but I want the EX os. Is it a bad idea?

I upgraded the os with a 100mb drive, but i did not format or make the clear disc procedure, so i don't know how it will react to it.

ok you can use the 100 mb drive with the ex upgrade... however you cannot format, i managed it once but it killed all the other disks 3 actually... so once your disk is full change disks...thing is i got the 250 drive then i just started killing disks in a few hours or so, perhaps they were on they way out anyway but it became too expensive for me to peruse... i have a knowledgeable source, mans a genius and has sold me a cf card reader that might actually work... its a long shot and my last attempt at running this thing as a 808 user... i love the damn machine so much ive spent more on drivers and disks than the machine cost... wish me luck, if it works assure gloats from me... and of course the drive model number and a place you can get them at a decent price

yes grab the 250, i got one for 15 quid... yes its worth it, theres a few extra effects, you can also send midi so you can use it as a controller provided there is a disk in, you can also use it without a disk inserted so if you wanted to run it as an effects box you can... also the 4 track seemed quieter, less glitch and overall things sounded much tighter.. its a worthy upgrade highly recomended

Edit: make sure its an iomega zip drive
