Long story short... I swaped the Iomega Zip 100 for a "new" one I got thru Amazon (thinking to stay stock instead of an upgrade) and would be totally happy if it now worked like new, and it almost seemed like it did, but... When you laod a disk it takes longer for the pads to light up 1 thru 16. And seems o.k. till you "hold" more than one pad, it starts to scramble the samples. The disk info is good and one sample alone plays fine, I even sampled to the disk and they worked fine. But if I play more than one sample it's a problem... Anyone out there have a clue?

Have you tried a different zip disk, formatted a new one, maybe?

First, lemme thank you for even bothering to answer me!

So yeah, I tried an old disk, a newer one, and I even used the original demo disk that came with it... They all do it. Have you ever been into the diagnostic menu? I found some dude with a video on you-tube, but its in spanish, so all I could do was watch how he got in (I'm not sure what he was doin)... I don't think the problem is with the disk, but maybe a default setting or something for the drive?

Well, I spent the whole day tryin to figure it out... I went into diagnostic mode and tested everything I could, and now I wonder if the samples created with the old drive may be corrupted, so I'm starting at zero. new disk, formatted fresh, from blank... wish me luck, and thanks again.

Yeah, I sold my 808, but I had only ever heard of bad disks, and the "click of death" problem that meant your drive was toast.

Neither of those ever happened to me? I upgraded my 100 to a 250 as well...that sure made it breathe better. But ultimately, the damn noise from those drives drove me nuts!
