Like several users here I am having problems loading from my smartmedia cards. I actually have three different 64 mb cards and I can't get any of them to load properly on the 303. I initialize the card. Load my samples with the correct filename (SMP000X.WAV). I insert the card in the 303 and turn it on but I never get the "UAU" message to load the samples. I know the 303 is reading the card because when I hit remain it lets me know how much space is left. Still its not seeming to recognize any samples on the card.

Any help here?

Open the sample in Audacity or whatever and export it as a 16 bit 44.1khz PCM Wav file then try it. You can't just change the file extension from .mp3 to .Wav if that's what you've been doing. Hope that helps you out.

Correct per page 52 of the manual. ONLY WAV AND AIFF 44.1 KHZ can be loaded.
