Well I know 303s are known for having quirky glitches, but this is really starting to worry me..

what happened was I was playing back a sample and it made a high pitch glitchy sound, Id read that this means the data on the card is corrupted....
so i intialized the card figuring this would fix the problem...
go to make another beat now no patterns will record on banks c and d... I finish recording the pattern and then it says error and when I look on the pattern sequencer for d and c no patterns WTF!!
And the glitchy sound is happening still..
It also does tripped out stuff like applies reverb to everything :?

any thoughts, advice would be great...

No 303 means no music.....and I cant afford any new shit :(

i believe you are right that your card is corrupted, and i dont think formatting the card will help it. ive had the same thing happen to 2 cards that i bought from ebay. the machine itself should be straight. you can p/u a new smart media and that should do the trick. if you do buy from ebay, check the return/refund policy with the seller as the card may work good for a few weeks then corrupt afterwards. good luck!!!

If you're using a card over 16mb, then I recommend using SanDisk SmartMedia. For some reason SanDisk products and Roland gear go together like peanut butter and jelly.

True, I use a sandisk 64mb SM card with no real problems. Every once in a while it'll randomly make my samples glitchy and I'll lose everything but making a new beat is good practice and besides Buddha teaches impermanence.

whatever pad has the glitch sound press it and then reverse and loop. after it loops and glitches out it should work if not delete the sample and patterns that use that sample. if it dosnt work... delete all samples and patterns on the card
my 303 is funk too

Best tip ever!!!!

saved a beat today, I had a beat finished, was just about to record it when a sample glitched...this trick saved it :)

For real Culprit, best tip ever. Now who the hell knows what sequence of events causes the 303 to glitch like that?
