But whats the best way to practice making your beats/music ?

How do you guys do that ??

cause I find most of the time when I really try to make a nice track I cant. I dont just want to copy peoples sound like most people wanting to sound like madlib, doom or dilla.

Best way is to just have fun with it. take some time and just get a lil drum beat goin. then start messin with some painos or strings etc. The arena is def a good way to practice sample choppin and sequencing. some of my best stuff was made just messin around tryin new things. Ask Jaylost what he thinks of "Backpack Studio" I made that when I was very bored on a sunday and was just messin around with synths cause I normally dont use them. Now that is prob my best track.

Just have fun, try different approaches, enter the battles, ask questions if your stuck, and don't discourage yourself.

Good luck

start by recreating your favourite tracks, that way you develop the main techniques once you master your machine you can start to evolve and build up your own style. forget all the rules, this is about making music.
