is ur mpd also set on common channel 1A if not then on any preset just press global and then press the right arrow button once then it will say ur common channel if it is not on 1A then turn ur knob to the left to make it 1A then press the preset button to return to the main menu...

YO CAMTONA.....Yo man got a quick question for you...If u sample on the sp and use all pads can u just press pad 9 on the mpd when u get ready to record to record on that pad or do you have to change the bank on the sp in order to use the other 8 pads on the sp?....

wow i got it with my xr20! now i have roll+sensibility!
i set xr20 midi channel to 1 and i do as at page.53 Boss do for the midi notes. i set also the sp-303 to "off" (power off>power on>time/bpm>ctrl1) and i change to channel 1...now it's ok! :D

i hope i find some solutions for the mpc 500 but i think it's moere complicated 'cause there's not one midi parameters to change...

I have followed all the instructions in this thread trying to get my MPD and 303 to work but noting happens if someone could upload the preset for their MPD or give a better explanation of how to set this up properly I would be happy

maybe you have to reset your midi settings to default
i've done this and now i can use my sp303 with the mpc2000 pads with no problems:
hold the [ext source] key while turning on the unit
the midi parameters will be this
midi channel: 1
midi sync mode: aut (auto sync)

I tried that and have setup the proper settings on both the 303 and MPD but no samples are getting triggered or anything and I can't figure out why

you have to use an ac adaptor with the mpd (not the usb cable connected to computer) and connect the midi cable like this:
mpd midi out => 303 midi in
