A while back (2005) I printed this off from the MPC forums and stashed it..don't know why, to this day I still haven't owned a 303 but here goes...

Quote:
the battery pack works for the SP303, Korg electribes, and any other sampler that runs at 9volt 1000mah...

the parts list from Radio Shack

item number 2300342-9.6v NICD RC 1000mah Combo Battery pack and charger - $29.99 qt. 1

2300445- 9.6v RC Connector cables $4 qt. 1

2731641- 6' Adaptaplug extension cable $7 qt. 1

2731717- Adaptaplug series - N - (has to be N) - $5.89 Qt. 1

about $50 maybe less...

So how this works is alot easier than any other method I have ever seen cause you don't have to be a genius to make it work..

step one- take the adaptaplug 6ft cord and connect the n series plug together to produce the dc connector cord that plugs into the power...

step two- take the adaptaplug 6ft cord and splice the wire on the other end that has the plug with the two prong..tha means cut the plug off...splice off the rubber to allow the copper wire to show on both black and black and white ribbed wires...

step three- take the 9.6 volt RC connector cable and notice that the one wire is black and one wire is red...the cables on the adaptaplug are back and black and white..the black goes to black the black and white ribbed goes to red...the rc connector has crimpers that you put the wires into each crimper then take a pair of pliers or a hammer and crimp the wires exactly like the other end on the crimper...

just so the adaptaplug copperwire is firmly snug and crimped into the rc connector no loose wires...

now you have a portable rc cable that pugs into the battery pack

step 4..test it out

you should have power for about 5 hours..

TIPS-make sure you charge your battery pack fully before using it
make sure the batteries are totally drained before recharging usually...

props to who ever posted that years ago, sorry I don't remember your name, haha

hey there,
i'm new here and you guys seem like a nice bunch - I'm a bit of an sp fanatic -having owned or own 202,303,505, as well the zoom sampletrak roland ms-1 , etc I'm a big fan of small format production :) anyway the idea of this excites the hell out of me . I can tell you this , I wanted badly a few weeks ago to take a sampler on the long road trip from georgia to tx for sxsw , so i modded a 9volt battery snap style terminal with the female end of a 9 volt power supply such as the boss psa . soldering the 2 together . To my surprise , I was able to power the zoom ST-224 on a single nine volt battery for approx 1 1/2 - 2 hours depending on what I was doing (fx,etc.). The st-224 takes a 200 or 300ma adapter, this may work for the 303 as well .. may be a quick fix for some folks in the meantime - i'll post pics if anyone is interested ...... anyways - Thanks for all the great info on the site , - 404 arrives tomorrow to add to the collection - can't wait !!
