Does anyone know if sp303 can read smartmedia cards used with Mac OS X? It seems that OS X creates hidden invisible files on the card called .Trashes which prevent the sp303 from working properly.

If the SP-303 has formatted the card it shouldn't matter, I'm pretty sure smartmedia cards in general should work fine with Mac OS X and a sampler like the 303. You did format the card on the SP-303?

Yeah, I did format the card and I even initialized the sp303 to factory default. I even figured out how to delete the hidden files but that didn't help.

doing this with the MPC 3K you have to format in the 3K, then immediately (before anything is sampled on it) put it in OSX, then open each partition (file) so that OSX puts it's stamp on it, then put it back into the 3K to use....I'm assuming you can follow the same steps on the 303 but have no experience doing so

hope this helps man, payce!

I've figured out that it doesn't matter at all. The issue I was having was not related to hidden files. For some reason, it wouldn't read my WAV files and it only reads AIFF files.

That's interesting, because I have osX and my 303 reads the .wav files I export from audacity. But it's awesome that you thought to use .AIFF format as the 303 accepts both file formats.
