i just got one of these and i was wondering if anyone with experience could advise me.
i am having a lot of difficulty loading wav files from my laptop to the unit via the smartmedia
card.
the unit came with a 128mb card and i was worried that it may be too high because the manual
says that the maximum card you can use is like 64 mb. i found a suggestion that with the updating
of the latest OS from the boss site you can in fact max out at 128mb, so i did this hoping it would correct
the problem. it did not. i called boss for help and they told me i needed the 64 mb card so went out and got one. still no change though.
i am able to record directly onto the card from an external source into the sp-303 so i believe i can rule out
that it is not the unit or the card malfunctioning. when i attempt to import those wav files i am following the
manual exactly: label any samples with the correct SMPL0001 title, make sure they are atleast 100 milliseconds
long, and make sure they are 44.1khz and 16-bit. i format the card in the sp and then when i load it in the card
reader i see that 3 files are always placed on there automatically. i then drag the wavs i would like to use to the
reader and then i insert the card into the dr sample. i have tried so many different combinations and i never get
the UAU message that is supposed to appear. what am i doing wrong. is there a formula to this? could it be the type of wav file (pcm)? mono or stereo? one guy at boss even suggested that if the wav had been opened in windows media player at all it would be corrupted.

i need an answer, i'm really wanting to start messing around with it.

i'm starting to wonder whether there is some sort of incompatibility with my card reader the dazzle 8 in 1. i've noticed that if i record onto the card through the sp303 it goes through fine and then if i switch the power off or pull the card and then put it back in and power on my samples are still there.
the minute i put the card into the reader though to load the waves from my laptop, the minute it stps recognizing ALL samples on the car and the only thing that happens when i press c or d is the offer to format or delete.
